Oklahoma

If a couple more weekends like this one happens, we could still get in with a loss at Nebraska. Odds are really slim though. It would have to be one of those "who else could we possibly put in" scenarios.

I don't know how a win over a team who has played no one could be enough to jump undefeated teams, so we should still be 5th.

Oklahoma's loss at Texas had better leave them on the outside looking in. Especially if there are undefeated teams whom they are competing with for a spot. That is a BAD loss. It doesn't matter how well they are playing or how much they've improved. They lost to a bad football team and any team who didn't do that should rightfully be in front of them.

The College Football Committee is about these 2 factors, first:
Notoriety and TV ratings.
This was cemented, last year, when Ohio State, got in, over TCU.
They were very fortunate that Ohio State won it all, and shouldn't be patting themselves on the back.

If Ole Miss or Arkansas was doing the exactly same thing that Alabama is going, no way would they be in the discussion.
Prior to last night's game, look at the comparison between Stanford and North Carolina.
Stanford was getting all of the love, while North Carolina was an overthought, especially being 7-1 and only ranked in the 20s.

ESPN is saying: "The Sooners earned a statement win against Baylor, proving to the committee that they're a much better team than they were when they lost to Texas on Oct. 10. Another factor in their favor is that the committee set a precedent last season when it put Ohio State in the top four in spite of its embarrassing home loss to Virginia Tech in Week 2. OU's loss to Texas is similar, but the Sooners need to win out and beat TCU and Oklahoma State to have a chance to overcome it."

"Proving"? Seems to me 12-0 closing with a road win at Nebraska would prove a hell of a lot more.
