Oklahoma

I'm sick and tired of hearing about Oklahoma possibly being one of the one loss teams in the conversation for a playoff spot. Anyone who loses to a team that got blanked by Iowa State should be cause for automatic elimination. Period. Heck, Texas got trounced again today. This time by mighty West Virginia.

It is almost as if Texas being SO bad allows everyone to easily dismiss it. The exact reason it should matter is what makes people say it doesn't.

So you're saying that since Oklahoma lost to Texas and Texas lost to West Virginia, West Virginia is the better team? I hate this theory it makes no sense...

Driving home from watching the game I heard some national boob on the radio wonder aloud if OU would pass ND for the 4th spot.

There are 6 teams with a shot...Ohio st, clemson, n. Dame, alabama, iowa, Oklahoma state. ....that's it until something changes. If Oklahoma beats osu....they move into okie state's place at 6...winner of osu/iowa is in...clemson is in...alabama is in...okie st is in...okie st loses then n dame or oklahoma in that order

How about we look at it that Baylor is not that good and OU's win today is no big deal. Baylor has played no one up to today and they lose today. They barely beat ISU at home,

Baylor sucks.

What we need is to be able to get in with one loss, as we could lose to nebby and still win the big ten. The big 12 could all take each other out. The Pac won't get a team now, but if Stanford beats ND then ND will be out.

So, if we beat Purdue I predict we get in if we beat OSU even if we have one loss.

Any Iowa loss knocks us out. They are waiting with baited breath to say, "We told you so".

I agree here...i think the timing of a late loss would knock us out unless there are many upsets in conference championship games and we get beat by undefeated osu on a last second hail mary...and then not likely.

If we lose to anybody from here on out there is 0% chance we make the playoff. With our schedule, I would agree with that outcome.

Watching OU last night I think their offense would give any team in the nation fits, even mighty Alabama. Great running backs and a really good QB is a scary team to prepare for. Still not sure what the hell happened to them against Texas.

First it was tcu... Their so good they should be in the playoffs. Then they get crushed by okie state. Then it's Baylor, they can't be beaten, their unstoppable. And the first team they play with a D...Oklahoma, they get beat. Now it's Oklahomas turn. They will get beat as well, along with Oklahoma state. They will all fall...

I was reading on Facebook that Herbstreit has Oklahoma and OSU ahead of Iowa...That alone proves what a tool he is.

Win out and leave no doubt.

Go Hawks..

It's my opinion that everyone in the country except Iowa fans and to their credit the selection committee wants Iowa O U T of the mix. My reasoning is that there's a huge guilt complex about leaving the Big 12 out the past couple years, as well as the business aspect. Big time college football is now a business with TV revenue being a huge consideration. In turn TV networks want the largest possible audience which allows them easier sales of advertising in both interest and dollars charged. If this is the case, all of the powers in the kabal do not want a non 'sexy' program like Iowa taking a slot from a Notre Dame or Ohio State or any of the larger TV market teams. Just a theory I throw out for consideration. Bottom line, get prepared to take it in the shorts because the only way Iowa gets selected is if there is absolutely NO way to prevent it. That's why all the talk is about a 1 loss Oklahoma or Notre Dame or even Alabama. A loss SHOULD equal a loss. It shouldn't matter where or why or when. It's why there seems to be asterisks when most of the "experts" discuss records of the 1 and 2 loss teams. There's an accepted perception our schedule is weaker than those teams, when in reality it's stronger at this point. Again, I give kudos to the committee for their honesty in that THEY have us ranked this high at this point. At least til now, they're giving us a shot. Just something I've felt for awhile. Thought I'd throw it out there this a.m.

OK only gets in if a bunch of teams lose.

True, but several teams ahead of them DID lose yesterday: Baylor, Stanford, LSU, Utah. So I'd expect OU to jump at least 4 spots. Since they won @Baylor, I could also see them jumping FL, but probably not Ok. State since they are undefeated. In other words, I wouldn't be surprised to see OU come in at 7th on Tuesday.

They have two games against ranked opponents to close the season, so more opportunity for good wins. Iowa/OSU will lose at least one game between them due to the Big 10 title game situation.

OU does still need some help to make the playoff, and that loss to TX probably will cost them in the end, but I'd say they're in the picture all of the sudden.

OU is in the picture, but I don't see how they've earned a spot above any other undefeated power conference team. Not with that loss to TX on their resume. If they were like ND and had just a close loss to someone like Clemson, then I could see it.

But, no.
