So osu has 4 Sr OL. They are playing for a B1G championship and trying to play for a NT.
How many jr ol we got? What does one more year look like?
Plus we have some weapons in the backfield. The coaches have figured out how to use these weapons.
Jake did a great job, needs to continue to develop the instride, but he grew a ton.

Radom thoughts, by olddude.

This is what will be needed, and for the Dl to be ready to take the lead while our lbs learn.
Those are the questions I ask to thee.

Iowa does not have the automatic reload capacity on their roster right now. Losing Scherff, if he decides to go, will be big - to me it's amazing he's as far along as he is given he's only really played for 1 1/2 years. Losing all 3 LBs next year will be big - I think back to 2010 when the Iowa LBs got hurt - that had an impact on that season. There are a lot of good pieces to the puzzle coming back, so I'm not forecasting a down year, it's just that some of the pieces that are gone/may be gone will require some others on the team to grow up real fast.

ps - I wouldn't fault Scherff at all for leaving, but man, I'd like him to come back.

If he's projected late first round, I could still see him back. Isn't this class loaded with left tackles? Did he redshirt? If he is younger, I could see the possibility of him falling to the top of the second if he is only projected to go in the mid-20s

Hmm.
So what does it look like?
I suspect by him coming back he is ready to lead.
Now who we got on d that steps up? James really turned up the heat and I hope that continues.
But before we worry about all that, lets see how hungry they are for a bowl win.
