Downtown Humboldt has a Pamida, therefore Humboldt > Des Moines.

Maybe I am getting too old or don't have high enough standards, but I don't get the "Des Moines has nothing to do" statement. If anything I think it has much more to do if you are younger. Court Ave for one is packed any time I drive by there. Maybe they want a movie theater close by since they really can't party? I have been out in bigger cities, and once I get into any bar I could be in DSM for all I know, not much different to me.

Still no one has said what I want to say, but probably shouldn't say. It's quite obvious what the problem is for these ladies with a place like Des Moines, yet DSM is in one of the few states that you would think they would really enjoy being in.

It sounds like they were lost and didn't ask where to go? There is plenty to do around DM, Court Ave, East Village... But if you walk a few blocks around the Well, there isn't really anything. You have that by a lot of city's arenas, nothing. Then again some have everything right across the street. Look at Minneapolis, for example, everything is right there surrounding their arena. That's not the Well, nor probably will it ever be(although the space is there to build, the focus is elsewhere). Some people just don't know where to look, apparently.
