Ok going to the bowl game now I need some expert help

Yes its Howl at the Moon. There is one in Tampa. It is in the district other than Ybor City. Dockside, Bayside, something side. Cant remember. It was a blast the last Outback bowl I was at. Very fun.

I think Howling at the moon is closed in Tampa not sure but its is not listed on there web site anymore as a location.

Just wondering when we went to San Antonio for the Alamo bowl they had an iowa show at the dueling piano bar called how at the moon...it was a blast...would love something like that.

Howl at the Moon in San Antonio was a great time. Howl at the Moon in Tampa has been fun in the past but now is closed.

WOW I was expecting this thread to take off a little more than it has. Nobody got any hotspots...or hawkeye gatherings they know of in Tampa?

I am getting in on the 28th, and it seems like the 1st opportunity for fans to get together is beach day on the 30th in Clearwater. I plan on checking out downtown Tampa/Y'Bor City on the 28th, 29th. I did see that on the 30th there is to be a Hawkeye gathering starting around 7pm @ Splittsville in the Channelside Bay Plaza area.

Then the Hawkeye Huddle is on the 31st at the Tampa Convention Center (not sure on the time) with gatherings following that in the Channelside area.

31st in Ybor City at 5:30pm for the parade, and then, great place to hang out until midnight strikes.
(Must place to be for Hawkeye fans)
Clearwater beach with the Iowa-LSU teams on the 30th.
Hawkeye Huddles are neat to go-to.

When someone says that there's no buzz about this game, this means that ESPN is not promoting this match-up, because:
1. All they are doing is talking Auburn all of the time.
2. There's a chance that one of their beloved SEC teams could lose this game.

There was virtually no buzz about the Orange Bowl, when we played Georgia Tech, but to Iowa fans, this was a big deal.

Honestly, I think there will be more Iowa fans this time around than when we played South Carolina, with a lot of them being returnees, like myself.

I hope you are correct about more fans being there than last time. Just does not have that feel. I have been to last two Outback Bowls and they both had great turnouts.

The ticket sales are pretty robust.
The University has sold just about all of their 11K tickets, and fans know that these tickets are not the best seats available, then, I'm anticipating a larger turnout than last time Iowa was in Tampa.

Plus, this same time in 2008 on EBAY, I bought 4 tickets, Iowa side, 50-yard line, 3rd level with a parking pass for $120/total.
Right now, cheapest seat on Iowa side on StubHub is $68.

I'm just looking at ticket sales and where the market is on resale tickets, as my primary indicator.

I know plenty of people who got tickets from other sources so it is very encouraging to hear the Iowa ticket office is almost sold out, which like you say are bad seats. A strong Iowa following will help motivate the players and keep Iowa high on the bowls wish list.
