Pretty fair article all around. Doesn't beat a dead horse on the past too much, and asks legitimate questions of whether Lester is up for the job and whether KF will give him the free hand to do his job. In my view, the second questions is clearly yes. KF has let Lester implement his offense and KF has never called the plays. This ship will be Lester's to steer, for better or worse.
I think the former question will turn out yes too. Not because Lester and the offense will light things on fire. Quite the opposite. I expect Iowa's offense to be average at best. But, even being described as below average makes you 30 places higher in the rankings than the last two years. How is that not monumental progress and success?
I also believe that Lester will do well because he has better personnel across the board. The OL is all back and a year older. It is veteran and healthy from what I can see. At times we were playing our 4th and 5th string TEs as starters last year. We have a potential all-american now. RBs are all back. We have a good QB and a couple spares, not Mount Hill back there. WR has only one direction to go.
