Ohio State has four freshman transfer from 2015 class

I've seen a couple of their players play in high school. I wouldn't take a bet on that if I were you.

UNI is a great example of a small roster...and what happened.

What happened? UNI did not contend for a conference championship. And they only had 1 player that could take the ball out of bounds contributing to their NCAA exit.

Yes I know. I fully expect Iowa to be better next year, but so will OSU. They beat us this year.

Diop will only get better. The guy will be amazing before it is all over. Lyle, if he can hold his act together will also be great.

I watched Diop play for 6 years. He can actually play guard and do it well. He's a bit like Magic in that he can do it all for a big guy.

I've never seen anyone in HS as quick as Lyle. Kind of funny if one thinks about it. Louisville pays for Lyle who gets outbid by Oregon which gets outbid by OSU!

On the serious side, I watched Iowa and OSU recruit players. OSU seemed like salesmen (in a good way) as well as serious. Iowa seemed more analytical with the players and parents, but much less intense which could have come off as not as interested. I had a unique opportunity to see a number of B1G coaches in recruiting action. Purdue seemed like a nice used car dealership, but a still a dealership. Just my own observations.

Some MO Valley coaches seem to work very hard at it and unashamed. I was impressed. They seem to go after kids who are over achievers with developing talent. Just my own observations for what it's worth.

Obviously, Thad is twice as bad a coach as Fran.
Math Is FUN!

1 - Uhl, Wagner, Williams, Baer and Ellingson all played ahead of them this year.

2 - Fleming left because of the competition at his position...don't see this from guys that expect to play ahead of the competition.

3 - Guys that think they will start tend to hang around...not sit out 2 years or drop to a lower level of play like Hutton.

I have more but this is enough to address the question you posed.

We just lost Gesell, Woodbury, Sapp, and Uthoff. Compare those players to the ones you have listed above. Yikes!!!

"Were" has to be an operative word here. How do we know that the two that left wouldn't be starters next year? At this point the only known starter for next year is Jok and he may go pro.

"Were" meaning they actually were pretty low on the depth chart this season. I have no idea where they would have been on the depth chart next season had they stayed but it's not like we are losing players that had any kind of significant role in this past season. But I do believe if Fran had viewed both of them to be valuable pieces next season he would have worked harder in order to keep them around, but that is my opinion.
