Ohio Stadium to add 2,500 seats in 2014

And sellouts and having a waiting list for season tickets are different. If you have sellouts you are still depending on single game ticket sales.

Not a problem when Wisky, OSU, Michigan, etc come to town, but when a home schedule like 2015 comes around it is likely there would be a lot of empty seats for some of those games, especially if the Hawks haven't righted the ship by then.

EVERY FOOTBALL TEAM relies on single game tickets except maybe Nebraska. We also have one of the highest priced average ticket price which also points to extremely high demand.

Ten Most Expensive Teams By Average Listed Ticket Price
1. Nebraska, $262
2. Ohio State, $227
3. Oklahoma, $207
4. Notre Dame, $206
5. Alabama, $205
6. Iowa, $202
7. Texas A&M, $189
8. Michigan, $185
9. West Virginia, $172
10. LSU, $158

I read an article after 2009 season that said 42 of the last 44 home games were sellouts. I then added up the sellouts from 2010-2012. Maybe i missed 1 or 2, but i feel like i have stated my case with facts to back it up.

This article says 54 of 56, add in 6 of the 7 from 2012 and you get 60 of 63.

Indeed, the 2015 season will be the test of fan loyalty.

This is right and I should have said Iowa would have to rely on single game sales even more if they were to add 5000 seats.

For God sakes, we were still drawing in the low to mid 60,000's for some non con games in 2003 after one of the most successful seasons in Iowa history.

Agree 100%, but don't forget that even if the game "sells out" there can still be empty seats in the stands on gameday. I always wish the sellout statistics were based on games actual attendence and not the amount of tickets sold.

IIRC, a game is considered sold out if there are only scattered singles left for sale.

I have not been to OSU or PSU but The big house is awful to watch a football game because of how big it is. If you are higher than 30 rows you can see and are a 1/4 of a mile away from the field. Its crazy hard to get season tickets at MI and if you do its all the way up at the top. I would go tailgate and then go home if that was my choice.

Really? I love the Big House and the atmosphere. The worst seats I had to watch a game were Iowa vs. Michigan Drew Tate's Sr season. We were in the 20th row and it was brutal to see everything. I prefer sitting higher there and can see everything. The best seats I had there were for PSU vs Michigan when PSU was No. 1 and Manningham caught the TD to win after Carr challenged how much time was left on the clock earlier in the drive.
Like there a lot, but have one complaint...the way they try an smash people in there is crazy; I prefer to watch on TV, but if I can go and set high, I have no complaints other than the one noted above.

Id rather sit in the last row at Kinnick than anything above row 35 at the "Big House"
Hope its true! Got my season tickets in last row of South Endzone (hoping the ability to stand without ******* people off pays dividends)

Been to Big House before "upgrades" and was impressed by the size, but was not loud and intimidating at all. Fans are too far away.

You are going to freeze in November if there is a stiff wind out of teh north.

Better hope for no weather like the Nebby game from last year.

'Grats on the tickets though.

Nah just go hang out with that dude WildTurkey before the game and you wont notice any wind.

The only real quick fix for seating in Kinnick is in the corners unless an upper deck is built above Hawkins.
