Ohio St is boned

Seriously it just keeps getting worse. OSU should not only vacate wins during Pryor's tenure, but they should count as losses. Their 2010 record should be 0-13, maybe that would actually leave a lasting impression. It bothers me so bad that Pryor made that ridiculous 4th and 10 conversion last year that won the game for the Buckeyes and now it turns out he is a huge cheat and never ever should have played in that game. Had he not played, Iowa wins easy. Instead it will forever go down as a loss in our record books and a win for Ohio St. It's not right. Retroactively forfeit the games. I wish that would happen, but of course it will not.

I just dont know how a guy could do 35 to 40 signings, and not one of his teammates or anyone at OSU didn't know about that? It's crazy...I mean that is a ton of Pryor autographed items to be on the market, for sale, to not draw attention.

I agree, they are going to get hammered..USC sanctions at a minimum.

Nice to know that we were hosed out of 2 Big 10 championships. NO WAY we lose to the Goophies if we beat the Bucknuts the week before.

And I was in C-bus the year prior and sat through the OT loss...then had to sit through the idiot fans around me high-fiving like they knew they were going to win, then sat through them singing that frickn school song and that O-H-I-O BS about a bazillion times. Sickens me to this day.

let me provide some details.
Pryor was actually stealing jerseys and gear out of the locker room, from fellow Buckeye players. To sell to that Talbott guy. When the players reported their things stolen from the locker room, the staff didnt believe them and forced them to pay for the items Pryor stole!
JT and the OSU compliance dept knew about TP and Talbott. They forced Talbott to disassociate himself from the OSU program, completely.
TP had designer clothes, hats and jewelry. Not to mention the cars.
Rumor has it that when Pryor met with the NCAA, they asked for bank records and thats when Pryor withdrew and declared his playing days at OSU were at an end.
Like he had a choice.

Yep. Now we know how OSU can go from winning the Big 10 six times in the 20 years before Tressel arrived and then 7 times in the 10 years after he got there.

Thanks for the correction. Miscalculated.

Yeah, that happens. Pretty much every year Iowa has Northwestern on the schedule, you can just assume a loss there and then add in the other losses to decent teams. Sometimes, I don't know which stings worse, watching the boys go out and get rolled by Western Michigan or thinking back to a season like 2008 or 2010 where the team was darn near as good as anyone but choked and lost to nobodies on basically one or two plays. We would have pulverized TCU in the Rose Bowl.

The area memoribilia dealers that have access to the Buckeye players AFTER they graduated, got bent out of shape because guys like Talbott and others were getting to players BEFORE they graduated and got signed items for the market.
These area dealers actually informed the OSU compliance dept about the situation, a long time ago and OSU tried to keep it in house.
This has to be the worst kept secret in all of college sports.
Herbie knew about it. Spielman knew about it. Former players knew about it.
OSU message board posters knew about it.
EVERYONE knew about it.

OSU is seriously boned. It is almost like somebody said, "Go **** Yourself" and they said, "Okay."

The TRULY sad part is that even if on probation and even with taking away a few scholarships, osu will sign the same 5 and 4 star players they would have had they not been on probation.

Even on probation osu's recruiting class will be one of the best if not the best in the Big 10, regardless of scholarship cuts. When off probation, they will just pick up where they left off...heck even the 2nd year on probation, they will probably win the their division and the second place team in the division will play for the championship, which will be an embarassment for the Big 10.

Unless the NCAA really lowers the boom, a couple of years on probation won't hurt osu in the least, except in the pocketbook and they have such a rich program and so much money, a couple of years of no bowl money isn't going to hurt them much if at all.

The ONLY thing that can harm osu is if they are dealt the death penalty and the NCAA is NOT about to that to one of their sweetheart programs.

How much is Meechigan smiling at this?

The NCAA will never issue the death penalty again, regardless of the program. That being said OSU deserves very stiff penalties. 2-3 year bowl ban, significant reduction in scholarships, and as I mentioned to start this thread, they should count the games as losses. Not just forfeiting the championships, etc, but turn the W's into L's. I wish Delaney would come forward and announce that OSU is banned from the B1G championship game for at least 2 years, regardless of what the NCAA says. IMO the B1G should be held to a higher standard than the rest. We are supposed to be the best conference in the nation top to bottom inside and out. This is a huge black stain and OSU should get the hammer.
