Ohio St-Illinois game canceled due to COVID spread

So I gather the Chief Illiniwicks will not be all beat up before they play us. Was Illinois also having covid problems?
 
So, if Ohio St has to cancel anymore games, that would make them not eligible for the title game. Would that slide Ohio St down to the 2nd slot and we would have a chance at playing them if we win the next 2 games (and if Northwestern does not stumble in all 3 games they have left)?
 
I’ll say it again, this B1G season is a meaningless tour of exhibition games. Feel good as a fan being able to watch a few games that are basically full speed practices.

It’s BAD here in the Columbus area. Franklin county is purple on the Covid map, which is the worst level, and a lot of the transmission is on campus, from what I’ve heard. It’s not a given that they’ll be back next week, or even the following if it doesn’t get better here.
 
Hmmm. At what point should the college football world just say lets push everything out 1 month.
1. Play the last regular season games on New year's day or that same week.
2. Play the champions week the 2nd week of January
3. Play the bowl games in late January, including the playoff semi-finals
4. Play the NCG in early Febuary
 
The word now is that the Bucknuts COULD have played today, but cancelled out of an abundance of caution. The idea is that they want to have a chance to play next week. The local sports guys didn’t call them liars.....exactly.....but they are also wondering if next week’s game is possible. Day is saying that if they can practice Thursday they could play Saturday, but nobody seems too confident.

Because the old men who run the game don't like change. They could have had an 8 team play off. A recent Yahoo! college sports podcast rips the committee and status quo to shreds

Yeah, but it still feels great to beat Frost, Fleck, Franklin and Sparty.
