great start Fran and company, negative thinking Bawinkel, positive thinking; we just signed the next chris kingsbury!!! Go get Harris now, NIT in 2011

Congratulations Josh! Great choice.....following the dream...

I am happy that they got him to avoid the hysteria that would have happened here if he went somewhere else. Fran got his role player/shooter, now please get some impact guys who can really move Iowa up the Big Ten list.

He seems like a typical Iowa player, 6'6, can shoot it a bit, somewhat limited atheltically?

That didn't take long for someone to try to be a Debbie Downer.

If he was athletic enough for Minnesota and Illannoy to offer, I'll take him.

I've only seen him live once, but from scouting reports I've seen say excellent shooting and passing. I don't think he's in the May realm of athleticism, but not limited. Good athlete, excellent bball player.

I've read from several places that he is one of the best shooters in the country.

If that's true, then he should be able to help us, whether he's athletic or not. Good shooters are always a plus.

It seems like the types of players McCaffery is typically going after look will give us an upgrade in athleticism, so I'm not really too worried about that. Just as long as some of these athletes are also solid basketball players.

He was one of the best players in the Vegas AAU tourny this summer...among many of the top players in the country. Amazing shooter and passer....always welcome in college bb. Good bloodlines also....his dad had a cup of coffee in the NBA,I believe.

I'm not being a downer at all, I'm just asking if thats a fair representation of his game, and it looks like it is.

Top 150-250 kid depending on the recruiting service you read. Not a program changer by himself, but a kid that will be around 4 years and could give you 10-12 points per game JR-SR year.

The early signing period is around 6 weeks away. Iowa needs to start somewhere. The last thing you want is no early signings, and have to wait til spring to sign your entire class.

I agree, the first peice is always the hardest. Hopefully this loosens things up a bit. I especially like the fact he's an instate kid, at least now Fran can say he's had success keeping some talent instate.

Yes! Great first step. Congrats to Josh on the decision and Coach McCaffrey on a good start to the 2011 class.

Now, time to go get some more game-changers...

Oglesby is much more athletic than people on here seem to realize. I guess I shouldn't be surprised.
This is a terrific pickup.
