Officials for Tuesday vs MSU?

I don't think Creepy Crean has a fondness for Jimbo Burr.

Making the Punk pray for impossible salvation. He will burn forever for his sins.....

Surprisingly, it wasn't just Iowa fans who noticed the reaming that Valentine gave us in the BTT last year against the mighty spartans. He got some national notoriety for that job. I don't think it's just a coincidence that he hasn't done an Iowa game since then and I'd be surprised if he makes and appearance tomorrow night., especially for this matchup. If he does, then I think it's Delaney giving the finger to Iowa once again.

Wouldn't be surprised at all if Delaney gave Iowa the ol Jolly Roger for Fran's ejection at Wisky.

Noticed this, too. In fact, had barely seen him entire season until a couple games ago on TV. Though I struggle to say this, I must be honorable and admit he was extremely quiet in that one and it was a fairly well officiated game. Maybe Teddy has toned it down since Ed retired; there's no longer any point to be so demonstrative.

Of course, if he's assigned this game and decides to go BTT, I hope a packed Carver quickly reminds him -- in whatever means necessary during or after the game -- it's in his best interest to stay invisible.

The officials for tonight's game: Mike Sanzere, Mike Eades, and Larry Scirotto. No Ted Valentine tonight in Carver.

I think we can all let out that sigh of relief now.

With that crew, I would expect a lot of fouls to be called tonight and Fran likely to be T'd up at least once

FPG Average
Sanzere 39.2
Eades 40.8
Scirotto 38.1

The average FPG Big10 play this year is 37.1

Eades did the Iowa v Wisky game where Fran was tossed.

Sanzere did the Iowa v Iowa State game.

Eades and Sanzere did the MSU v Texas game where Appling fouled out. Lots of fouls called in that MSU v UT game. (3 disqualifications and 2 others with 4 fouls).

For those of you that like to spend mama's welfare check at the casinos - take the over.

You know who else did the Wisconsin game? Clougherty and Gaffney, the same guys who did the Michigan game. I'll take these two Mikes over Mike Kitts for sure.

We want a crew that calls lots of fouls because we don't foul much and MSU fouls like their life depended on it. I like this crew. Pretty non-descript and should call it fairly tight which favors us. Contrast that with TV Teddy who has the lowest fouls per game of all officials in the entire country. Couple that with the fact that Izzo is one of his favorite coaches, per his own confession in an interview, and that would be the perfect storm of crappiness that would definitely lead to Fran's ejection and quite possibly the dreaded 3rd technical.

It's cute that you think a crew that tends to call a tight game is a bad thing for a team that likes to spend a lot of time at the FT line.

Im not really sure where he said the crew assignment is a bad thing for Iowa. He said Fran would get a tech and to take the over. Not sure what you are seeing that I missed.

Apparently tm just wants to walk into a room and yell fire for no reason.

Dude - as IPA pointed out, I think this crew is a good thing for Iowa. They call a lot of fouls. One of these teams goes 11 deep without much falloff in productivity (debatable but I will leave that alone), the other is depleted with two of their key players out and another hurting. I'll let you figure out who this benefits.

The other side of this coin is that at least two of the refs don't put up with **** from the coaches. We all have watched Fran get T'd up but Izzo is prone to blowups too. IMO this is a push to slight advantage to the Hawks. We don't need any T's tonight and Fran likely knows the propensity of the refs just as well as the rest of us.
