So far, so good. Hawks did their part, Purdue helped by beating Minny, MSU is a lock over NwU, now for the clinchers ...

Illannoy needs to beat OSU and Indy needs to beat Michigan.

I want to beat Becky Vadger in the 2nd round, nab that neutral court "signature" win and get the last minute invite to the dance as a 12 seed.

Not sure why everyone wants Wisconsin, a win against MSU would carry more weight in the committee's, it is Tom Izzo coaching at MSU right and isn't MSU's AD on the board?

I don't think there is much a of a difference between Wisconsin or MSU in the 2nd.. Both teams Iowa can and hopefully will beat. Now on to taking care of business against NW.

because michigan or msu on a neutral court would not be pretty

Michigan yes, MSU why?

MSU isn't a great shooting team and Iowa played them tough at Iowa...Iowa has had some good history against MSU in the BTT. Think about it anytime Lickliter wasn't at Iowa, Iowa plays them tough, remember Iowa isn't overmatched against MSU the second they step on the floor.

Iowa played them tough at Carver. Granted, without RDM, but this time would be without Gessell, which I think could be worse. I just think Appling and Gary Harris (who's really developing over the last month) would abuse Clemons, Dev and Oglesby at the top of the zone (Same can be said about Burke, if Michigan ends up in the #3). Then you have Nix - you think the Big Brazilian did a number down low, today, Nix will do the same, only with better skill. Finally, MSU refound their mojo vs Wisky - just in time for tournaments, which is typical of Izzo's teams.

Becky, yes. Sparty and / or UM, no thanks.

I'm not convinced that Michigan would be a bad draw for us. I've watched them play numerous times since we played them in Ann Arbor and they're not playing great basketball right now.

If we can get Wisconsin you take it. Sure I understand Michigan isn't playing all that great, but that can and will probably change in a split second. Michigan is to damn good to stink it up for very much longer.

Unless Fran has come out and said Gesell won't play, nobody knows. A fully loaded Iowa team can compete with any team in this conference. They've shown that this year.

None of us want to accept the inevitable, that we will play one of the Michigan schools in the BTT. Consider that among the top 5 in the conference, Wisconsin is currently playing the worst by far. 2 losses this week by a combined 28 points, one of which at home to Purdue.

"Getting Mike back, that will help, and I think that will happen, so that will give us another hand, another shooter, another play maker."

-- from Fran's presser today

When you look at other teams that have resumes like Iowa's, who people say are already in the field of 68, they have a higher signature win. Iowa's signature win is Wisky and it isn't enough now. Why would another win against Wisky do it?

Perhaps you're right, but I'm looking at the best way to get two wins. I think two wins would do it, but who knows.

I don't know if they can beat MSU or Mich on a neutral court.
