**OFFICIAL US OPEN GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP THREAD**

FYI through 8. Tiger +1, Phil +4, Bubba +4 (Phil and Bubba bogey Par 5 16th). Zach at +2, and Kevin Na is making good work of the course, though just bogeyed to drop to -2

Na and Grace just birdied to go to -3

It seems like one player always plays out of their mind and has a good tournament. I think -5 is the lead going into sunday, ending with -2 as the winning score. This tourney doesn't set up well for Zach Johnson, but does well for lengthy hitters like Bubba and DJ, however DJ's short game is sub par (pun intended) so I don't think he will be in contention.
Not Bubba. He's too erratic off the tee.

The first six holes have played at 2.64 strokes above par so far today. The highest before of any first 6 holes before at a us open is 1.64. I believe at winged foot

Phil has 5 straight pars. Tiger is being pretty meticulous, just playing good, safe shots. He is at even with one birdie and one bogey

Zach really stunk it up today and sits at +7. He'll likely struggle just to make the cut. For whatever reason he has never played worth a darn at the US Open. His three rounds of golf since his win a few weeks ago have been pretty bad. If he doesn' t play well tomorrow it'll be two straight missed cuts.

At least one of the big names, Tiger, did well today.

The 17 year old kid (Hossler ?) drives in the rough, has to lay up, drives it over the green, then sinks it from off the green to par the hole. He's been fun to watch.

I am rooting for the goober kid or Furyk. Screw these furriners! Except Big Easy; I'd be ok if Ern won it.
