!*Official 'TJ Hockenson Is Eligible For The Draft' Thread*!

3 very close losses that is why.

You don't see Iowa plays as a problem?

And maybe Fant was well-covered in those games at various times. You can't throw if a guy isn't open. And it's still risky throwing to a guy who has dropped some basic, right-in-the-hands throws.

If you REALLY think this season has been about coaching and play-calling, and not about execution, I don't what to tell you. You can always assert that, in the end, it's "always" about coaching. But if you can predict "bad" execution, coaching, etc., every game, and know exactly when/where it will occur, you need to play lottery, not "play coach" on a message board.

Act I don't have big issues with the losses. The last one...ya the old scrpt bothers me.

Your premise is fairly accurate but its on KF for not having other targets and a weak running game.

Why not play the guy llike a wr?

<<Why not play the guy like a WR?>>

What kind of mismatches will that bring? Height/weight, sure, but he isn't outrunning even a "serviceable" CB.

Certainly is not slower than Clark. He was faster than Purdue CBs.

In your ideal workd I agree. We dont opeeate in ideal.

Two words: Jake Butt

TJ: Don't have some blind sense of allegiance. Go and get yourself set up for life.
Some players do benefit from returning to school. Some don’t. Ultimately TJ and his family will have to weigh all the factors which includes injury risk.

The one thing we know for certain is you or I will have zero input in the decision.

As an Iowa fan I hope he comes back, but I certainly understand he has to do what’s best for him and his family.

I don't doubt he was well covered. The problem is the Hawks have a QB with no finesse. He also has limited talent to throw at except for TEs

I have no big issues with the losses though they aren't far from being undefeated. However, I do have problems with a most of the time problematic O'Line and something significantly wrong with the O. This year there are 3 things when usually it's one or two. One shouldn't expect this almost year after year from a 20 year coach. Then there is the punter...

This just isn't normal stuff for a 20 year coach. Not this much. The paradox is that Iowa is so damn good at so many aspects. It's just down right hard to explain and why Iowa though the envy of IL and MN and maybe Purdue...and ISU most of the time, they are a joke to many as it's almost comical...the problems. Having a 2nd year QB that can't throw a screen pass? Come on...

I'd like to see some beat reporter with balls ask Kirk at this coming Tuesdays presser if he thinks Fant and Hoch will leave early for the draft.
Not about "balls." Not about any of the stuff posted in this thread. Why waste time asking a question that you know how he will answer -- with a nonanswer?

Here is how that would go in the presser:
R - "Coach, there is speculation that both Fant and Hochinson will likely declare for the NFL draft. Have you discussed this or made plans for losing both of them?"

Kirk - "That is something we will evaluate after the season. Leaving early for the draft is not something we talk about with players during the season. If we have to make an adjustment we will. That's football."

All he will say is what he always says. They will sit down and evaluate with the players after the season. We have heard this over and over. Is this a shock to you?
