Yeah, the only thing I took issue with was how Rittenberg said "After offensive line and linebacker, cornerback now becomes a big priority for Iowa in 2010."
I think we'll be just fine.

Iowa's defense is only as good as its d-line. With all four linemen coming back, I'd be happy with Adam "the Glove" Shada back out there. QBs won't have any time to throw, we'll be fine.

good luck to Spievey, but what is the big deal on him really? I guess I just never thought that he was such a highly regarded prospect for the NFL. And like someone else pointed out, Bernstein will be back and we will be fine.
I guess there is something to be said about not throwing in his direction too often or what? Nothing every REALLY stuck out in his time as a started that said to me, this guy is going to be a beast, like I say when I see Clayborn dominating.

Even though he wasn't exactly projected super high on draft boards, I had trouble believing he would come back, given all the off-the-field reasons he has to try to get paid this year vs. next year. It's not really a surprise...I certainly wish him the best of luck at the combine!

Oh man, you are underestimating AS. He killed it this year. People didn't throw to him, he was a blanket cover corner, but he was also extremely physical and made big tackles for Iowa. He'll be one of the best tackling corners in the draft.
It's good Iowa has a lot of depth at CB, but this is a big loss for Iowa.

Speaking of Shada, on the trip back from the Orange Bowl I sat next to his aunt. She said Shada is doing great and is working at Gold Man Sachs. Thought it was neat to here how a former Hawk is doing in his life

I hope this isnt a surprise to some of you. There were no real signs of him staying. I had Bernstein as my starter as soon as this rumor surfaced. Good Luck Spievey, the selfish hawk fan in me hates to see you go but the good hawk fan in me looks forward to watching you play on Sundays.

The fact that Spievey was under the radar all season is actually an indication of how good he was. He was our shutdown corner. None of our opponents wanted to throw the ball his way. Bernstine and Prater are both good enough to step into the starting roles, but knock on wood for them to stay healthy. I'm confident he'll make it onto a team and play well in the NFL.
Adam Shada is one of the most hated Iowa players, can't stand him and many people around where I live agree. Not to mention your name is god awful I hope it's sarcasm!
