!*****Official Omaha @ Iowa Game Thread*****!

So Pemsl is leading the Big 10 in field goal percentage before this game, then goes 6-7. I posted before the season that judging from PTL highlights, he's really good at finishing around the rim. Then to start the year he was looking like he was going to prove me wrong by missing layup after layup. Now it looks again like he is a really good finisher. Something we haven't had in a long time.

----------Why not the Temple win?

So Barta puts less stock in the Temple win than the Davidson win? I highly doubt that. Right now, Fran is "riding back to back tournament wins, three straight tournament appearances, finishing in the top half of the conference four straight years, finishing tied for 3rd in the conference in back to back years, and having one of the best 3 year win totals in program history.

Yeah, three years in a row: losing in the play-in game, beating the worst Davidson tournament team in recent memory before getting depantsed by Gonzaga, and needing OT to beat a Temple team that shouldn't have made the tournament before getting depantsed again (by an admittedly great team).

Yes, this is better than Lick. But this ain't John Wooden either. Don't kid yourself.

Most picked us to lose to that "terrible" Davidson team. The reason you think they were bad was because we destroyed them.

I was all for aiming for the next level after hanging around at the same respectable level for so long. I don't agree with making the move to try to reach the next level right after jumping up about five levels. If we maintain this level for another five to ten years, showing no signs of ever reaching the next level, I will be ready to move on.

If you always fire a coach because you want the next level, you will never have the stability to stay at any decent level.
