There have been a ton of statements, pronouncements, predictions and critiques of other posters on all things Oliver Martin, especially during the last few days. Please feel free to purge your soul in this thread so we keep them all in one place. Confession is good for the soul, gents.

I know, but his post came literally minutes after the initial Twitter post that kicked this whole rumor mill off. And his post was almost word for word what that Twitter post said. Seems sketchy to me. Now, if he pulls off another piece of "insider" info, I'll put him in that camp. But even if his info didn't come from Twitter, once isn't a trend.....

Sounds fair. Maybe it's his twitter account?
 
Not saying this happened, but anyone could have said on Monday that they heard from good sources that Oliver was going to be cleared, only guessing and rolling the dice on it happening and not really having any reliable sources, if any at all. Then they end up being "right" about it. Just sayin'

Sorry I don't have a twitter account. If something was word for word it was completely accidental.
Fact is, it wasn't much of a scoop. A lot of people close to the situation knew. People in the university also knew.
 
It made for good discussion, entertaining at times. Kirk would make a good double agent. He had to conduct that press conference yesterday and no one came away reporting that Martin was approved. Maybe he's in the CIA.

No reason to be mad now. Martin is eligible and that is the important thing.

It also helps that I didn't logon for a couple of days. No reason to read all the posts when I was very sure of my info.

He knew it was all but a done deal with the way he stated they should hear this week and he would play if cleared. Why wouldn't he say we aren't sure when and we have a game plan for Saturday.
 
And I do not count it as lying if you are stating things in a certain way and protecting sources or have to wait until official word comes (say on paper versus verbal, etc.)

As I posted in another thread, Martin was not cleared to play this season until this morning. So, yeah, to say Sunday night or yesterday that he was cleared to play this year was inaccurate.

It would have been quite amusing if Kirk would have flat out said at the presser, “the NCAA has approved him, but Michigan and the big ten are dragging their feet now” ...would have made my year.
