**** OFFICIAL OHIO ST-IOWA PREDICTION THREAD ****

so many things going against us. letdown game following big win, team that just beat a team that blew us out, away game, bad match-up, etc...

OSU 72 - Iowa 60

this one could get ugly unless we have someone who can hit shots from the outside. looking at you JO.

I'm with you, I say 60-75, OSU. Then again everytime I post a prediction the opposite happens, except Michigan.

Don't use the transitive property. OSU has lost since beating UM and Iowa has won a couple since getting thumped by UM. Wisky beat Indy who beat Iowa so Wisky beat Iowa, right? It'll be a tough game, but I think Iowa pulls it out.

I'm not really sure what to think about this one. I think I'm more worried about Craft guarding our young guards than I am about Thomas getting his points. If the freshmen can handle Craft's defensive pressure I like our chances much better than if they can't. I think this game is about who wins the rebounding battle and how the freshman guards play.

That said, I think the Hawks put up a fight but the Bucknuts pull ahead after the U8 timeout.

I think that Iowa will loss this one, very close. Alas, I'm not thinking very well tonight (pile on) and Iowa gets "blown out" in a minor way... O ST 77 Iowa 69.

Everything is OK because...

IOWA is BACK

(still believe Iowa will win, just won't predict it.)

Bucks by double digits unless something unexpected happens like Marble going all unconscious and raining like 7 threes.

I think this might be Iowa's best chance to steal a signature road win against a quality opponent and there aren't going to be many chances where that is a real possibility. Kraft is an excellent defender but outside of Thomas there is no real offensive punch so to speak for the Buckeyes. Teams tend to play bad coming off of games against MSU because they are so physical and that can be somewhat draining. This isn't a signature OSU team that is chalked full of high first round picks like in previous years. This isn't a Greg Oden or Jared Sullinger type of team with a dominant big man.

This is my upset special of the week. I think Iowa wins a close one in Columbus.

Iowa 77 OSU 71

Ok, just because I am feeling good coming off of SF going to the Super Bowl...with reasoning here:

Let Thomas score, not at will, but lock down on everyone else, control the boards.

When Value City Arena opened, I think Iowa won the first three or four times there, it is time for Iowa to call VCA its home away from home again.

I like Iowa to play better in a close one where they continue to play defense at a very high level and at the beginning of the year, I would never pick Iowa to compete in either game against OSU.

Today, I am not saying Iowa can go there and win, but I am going to pick Iowa to go there and win in an ugly one.

Iowa: 62
OSU: 59

Not a kool aid drinker here, just have a good feeling about the game tonight. Iowa coming off a big win and OSU coming off of a very difficult loss.
