Guys, everyone is thrashing this kid but he ain't that bad. Watch the film from last year. Watch that Pitt game. Kid is a legit QB but our coaching staff has completely hermaphroditized the poor kid and Davis has got him and the receivers making independent reads at the line and it is an unmitigated disaster. Sure, the dude has had a tendency to lock on and it seems to have gotten worse this year, but I think it is because he has no idea what his receivers are going to do because Davis is such a freaking moron and has everyone making their own read at the line. Sorry, but this ain't Peyton Manning tossing the rock to Stokely, Clark, Harrison and Wayne. It is the most complicated "simple" offense ever. If I hear one of you proles booing that kid tomorrow, get ready for haymakers.

GO HAWKS

I stopped reading there..

He has a very attractive mom..too bad she never seems to be on fan shots anymore.... OP are you upset with the guy that hired Davis in the first place? He's the one responsible for this disaster of an offense.

I will support every player that puts on a Hawkeye uniform and goes out and does everything he can to help the team win. What I do not support is the coaches decisions to leave a player out there when he is not performing well or the game is obviously lost and you have a backup that can use some snaps. All the criticism Vandy has gotten is not fair, it is the coaches fault for putting him in that situation.

I think that was prior to teams discovering he craps himself at the thought of a blitz. Once teams started blitzing that bright light slowly faded and he was exposed.

I can't support this kid any longer, nor will I support teh head coach.
THIS DOES NOT MEAN I WILL BOO. It just means no likey.

Tired of the new offense excuse. Davis has had several QBs quite successful in his system. Applewhite. Simms. Young. McCoy.

Let's face it JVB doesn't have what it takes. He has had plenty of time to learn and practice. All the B1G schools have had time to study JVB and know how he can't make game speed decisions and panics under pressure.

Look at McGloin. He has learned probably a more complex offense under BoB and has younger more inexperienced receivers to work with, and he shredded the Hawks.

He's probably not as crappy has Jake C. That's as much support I can give him right now. Hopefully after the game today I will have more positive things to say.

I don't like his play but it doesn't mean I don't like the guy and don't want him to succeed. The only way I could do that was if he were a richard head like a past Iowa Qb that shall remain nameless.

I think he's already been named above.

2009 vs Ohio State, 2011 home Vandenberg has to still exist somewhere. Let's find him and win some football games.

Ohio State didn't blitz a lot in that game. They sat in their base defense and dared him to throw it. Also, he had a lot more talent around him that day. But JVB isn't coming into his first start today. Senior qb should be ready for the blitz. I know he's capable and hopefully he puts a good game together today. The only thing that worries me is our OL in pass protection. We're going to have to throw it today and JVB tends to get a little ancy when he hears footsteps. Macmillan needs to be the "next man in."

16 played about as good as he can today. Was it well below average for a FBS QB? Absolutely. He is a well below average FBS QB. But it was still the very best he can do. Its not his fault he's out there.
