Official Iowa vs Michigan Two Deeps

whats with DT Ballard/Daniels and DE Ballard/Binns? I guess i haven't looked at the 2 deeps before,is just because of the rotation? Or did we clone christian ballard

The NCAA has said that our DLine is just so damn good that our 4 players seemed like 5 guys were on the line which would make us have 12 men on the field. So they are making us play with only 3 guys on the Dline, and Ballard is man enough to play two positions at once.

Of course not, but I also didnt think that game was going to be easy.

Wisky has the personnel to give us trouble if we dont come to play.

True, but I think that's only on the offensive side of the ball; their defense leaves a lot to be desired.

Arizona viewed the Iowa game as a "program" game in the same sense that we looked at (and still look at) the Penn State game in 2008. Wisconsin won't have any of the advantages that Arizona had.

Interesting, I'm not concerned about Wisconsin at all. Not in the slightest.

Agreed. We match up well with teams like Wisconsin and Michigan St. Since those games are at home, I like it even more. This Michigan game WILL be the hinge of our season. Win and we keep winning, lose and we'll lose again.

Originally, my mindset was like yours, but i've seen enough of Wisconsin that i'm starting to think like shada on this. The game is at home, wisky style of play matches perfectly with what Iowa does, badgers pass defense isn't very good. I have to admit i may have overrated wisky at the beginning of the year.

People are scared of Wisconsin??? They have only scored more than 17 points on us two times since 2002. Those two games.. they scored 21 points and 24 points.

But yet no one seems to be scared of Michigan. A team with a terrible defense, a terrible defense last year too, and they came into Kinnick and scored 21 offensive points and turned the ball over 5 times... and lost by two points. Clearly an offense that can give us fits with speed all over the field on offense.

Outside of the Minnesota game, Wisconsin might be the least of my worries of all teams remaining. Since 2002 we've owned them. I think we are 5-2 against them since that time period with two very close losses and a few blowout wins.

Give me Wisconsin's prehistoric offense any day of the week against this year's Iowa defense. John Clay is fat and wont' rush for over 60 yards against us.

Iowa was playing really conservative against Michigan when Robinson was in at QB. They were primarily focussing on making Michigan earn every yard ... and force them to completely bleed the clock. Folks can call me crazy, but after Moeaki caught his last TD pass in that game ... I had absolutely no worries about Iowa winning that game. As far as I'm concerned, against our D when it was NOT playing to protect the lead, we only gave up 2 TDs. And, might I add, Rich Rod relied upon featuring a power running game in order to exploit the fact that we were defending the run with only 5 or 6 guys in the box. And, might I add, Iowa likely would have fared better had the D played a better game. Unfortunately, Michigan's OL played a good game and did a pretty good job of blocking Iowa's DL. I actually expect that Iowa's DL will watch the tape from '09 and remember that they didn't dominate things as much as they probably thought they did ... and that will probably provide them will plenty of motivation.

Lastly, for as often as folks like to say that our LBs are a "weakness" ... I'm still pretty darn confident about what Nielsen and Hunter bring to the table. Heck, if Johnson tackles better ... I'll be perfectly happy with him too.

Sorry gang, but Iowa could lose in any of the last 7 games,or win them all,but anyone of those days the Hawks could fumble away a game like at Arizona. Parity is the only constant in college football this year.
