Basketball terminology can be confusing to the uninitiated. A player finding his stroke refers to being able to get out of a slump and start hitting jump shots again. Jok was a three point specialist in high school becoming Mr. Basketball as a senior in Iowa. He has been having trouble nailing those threes so far this season. He might only have one. This is from Bleacher Report about three UNC players who had been having trouble shooting the ball:

Unlike those keys or that wallet you lost a few years back, a basketball player's stroke can be found again.
That will be the challenge for three particular Tar Heels in 2012. Though there are many variables in the winning formula for North Carolina, one can't look past the importance of P.J. Hairston, Dexter Strickland and James Michael McAdoo finding their stroke.

Handling the ball should be self-explanatory. It refers to what a player does with the ball when it is in his hands, as far as dribbling or passing the ball is concerned.

Savvy, Amigo.....
