nice.... he looked pretty intent on popping that suckerYeah, so he had a little juice to give the NW players during handshakes.

It was nice to pour it on the cats. We owe them a few more yet from when pimple guy beat us so many times a few years back.
When I see Dev, Mel & Zach graduating this year...followed by Whitey & Gabe in 2015...I have one thought. Fran had better be seriously cranking up the recruiting or we're gonna have a huge dropoff in the Fall of 2015.
What were the rankings of those players when they came to Iowa. Fran developed them. For once we have not had a year of players getting kicked off, flunking out,getting in trouble with the law..in other words sticking around for 4 years.. Maturing and learning from one of the best coaches in the nation. I am not worried about recruiting.

Is Northwestern the worst major conference team?

Potentially after a 2014-2015 season with Fran...
Uhl = Basabe
Ellingson = Something we don't currently have
Jok = Marble
Gesell, Clemmons, Uthoff and Woodbury = Seniors making their last run at it with loads of experience
That's a solid core group of 7 with a few more guys currently unknown.
Ok. So you must think that our roster should have 15 current players that could start instead of 11. The "depth" you speak of consists of high school sophomores and juniors. After our sweet 16 or better run this year, fran will attract our "depth".I see your point. But looking at the roster and considering those graduations...all I see left is a solid point guard, a "2" that can really shoot and a "2/3" that can score....with no backups. 4-5 is completely empty...an area where we already lacked toughness and strength.
It's kinda hard to worry about the depth on a team when the sophomores are seniors. Half the people on that team haven't even stepped on campus yet.
I'm not worried at all. I was trying to put drummer at ease. I'm happy with the 7 guys we know we'll have.
