Hawkeyes' inadequacies were magnified on that drive. On that 2nd down with 3:40 left, huge hole on the left side of the line and we can't get through it to the second level. Long pass down field and Jake doesn't have the arm strength to get it there.

Hopefully Rudock can bounce back because Iowa needs QB to stretch the field today. Also need to run a shiftier back...line opened some lanes last drive.

checkdown, checkdown, and more checkdown....we all know what is coming unless a receiver is wide open this is what we are going to start to get

Jake's arm isn't strong for that throw.......

That's right. His arm is weak and he cannot make this throw into a 20 to 25 MPH wind. You'd think Davis would know this by now. Nothing has changed. He's still a horrible coach.

As for defense, it appears we are seeing the Iowa D that played in the Maryland game.

The wind is an issue, but Jake has to do better at releasing the ball sooner. With a quicker release, you can negate some of the arm strength issues. But he has to trust his WR will be at the spot....Jake waits till they are open.

Happy with that play even though it was broken. Iowa needs to run and fake the sweep a lot more than it does to make it more effectively.
