!*****Official Iowa Hawkeyes @ Rutgers Scarlet Knights Game Thread*****!

Boy Beathard looks great this year, lol. Did you see those gaudy numbers he put up today against one of the worst defenses in the B1G. He couldn't find an open receiver with a GPS device....no vision. Yes, receivers were open....

We didn't deserve this one but I'll take it. On to get stomped in the West!

Sure we deserve it, Iowa made "enough" plays. We would have deserved it had we lost as well for not making enough plays, just like we did last week.

We win last week if we use te raider package...I have no way to prove it...but I also have no doubt.

Our OC is still awful with a few moments of decent. Our DC is mostly just OK, WITH MOMENTS OF WTF.

Snyder had a good game, Bower did well, Josey and King do what they do. Niemann struggled some.

Wadley was good, again, poor Daniels should have about 175 more yards on the year if not for garbage penalties. Our WRs, outside of Meercat...got a ton of work to do. Smith shows flashes, Scheel has not impressed me given the hype, but he's still young. Kittle is doing his part.

He is playing better, but has missed a couple big tackles.

That really wasn't a comment about how great of a game that Snyder was having (although he did have a pretty good game). It was really more about how often it was up to our safety to make the play.

Our safeties should not be in the double-digits for tackles.

Man CJ has took some big hits this season! Hes not going to last all season, if the Oline dont get off their lazy butts and protect him!
He has no vision and holds the damn ball too long!!! How long are they supposed to 'protect' him?

I will take this 14 point win any day. It was also a great job all around by the defense in the red zone. The 2nd quarter goal line stand was simply amazing. The strip and recovery by Snyder was clutch Iowa really does have one of the best secondary. King was amazing with his pass break ups, and running down that Rutgers player to keep him out of the end zone and allowing the team to make a goal line stand. The secondary is definitely one of the best in the nation! Also shout out to the offense for getting that fist down on the final drive to salt the game away. I am so pumped with this win! What a great thrill!

The o-line really didn't do him any favors today. Again. There were several times that he couldn't step into the throw - there just wasn't enough room.

In the same token, CJ obviously didn't have any trust in the o-line and gave up on some plays earlier than he needed to. He reverted to the run pretty quick several times. I wonder if he was more hurt than they let on from last week.

Our play calls on offense were less than impressive. Didn't really do much to help our struggling o-line or QB.

He absolutely is holding the ball too long. He had time to throw it away a number of times. His "pocket presence" is his biggest weakness. Protection was pretty good today overall.

While he hasn't been great the last couple weeks. He has been decent. And he was great last year, mostly.

outgained, out TOP'd and outrushed again. 193 yards rushing allowed. I mean it's a win and I'll take it but Iowa's gonna get their **** stomped pretty soon. How is the run defense THIS bad? I all think we've had enough of this past first, trying to establish CJ as a pure passing QB. Just run the damn ball until the other guys stop it. Wadley and Daniels combining for 25 carries today and averaging over 6.4 ypc combined is just a crime. Give daniels 20-25, give wadley 15-20 touches see if they hold Iowa to under 300 yards on the ground. Don't try to force the ball to a possession WR, a TE, and a bunch of special team guys playing wr because Iowa can't develop WR's for crap

I agree. D-line needs to get a lot better (especially getting off blocks) or it going to be a struggle all year. Johnson has taken a step backwards this year in my opinion and Nelson needs to play like he's 6'8, 285 and stop dancing with the bear...........

King was amazing keeping the Rutgers player out of the end zone??? First he didn't 'attack' the WR screen, then he whiffed on the open field tackle before he finally chased the guy down. Piss poor! And he got 'pinned' on the inside and gave up a 25 yd. run. King is not playing well this year, so it is not surprising to me he not a captain right now.
