They did when it counted. Which is what drove everyone nuts in 2010. Great all game, then collapse in the last 5 minutes.

This.....average offense at best with a QB who could run the ball.

I"ll hold judgement until after next weeks game against a more diversified offense.

Every game is going to be tough for this team. We will struggle, and if we can muster 7-5 this year it will be a successful season. UNI only lost at Wisky 26-21 and we know how we tend to play against Iowa State.

No gripes....just want to save judgement until they play against a quality offense. Very lucky to get off the field with a victory today against an average opponent.

No question that Iowa will see a lot of blitz coming at them this year.

But remember 2009. Win opener over UNI by 1, some said the Hawkeyes didn't deserve it. Then go on to win the next 8 in a row, and end up 11-2.

Can it happen again?

By the way, Mark Weisman played well today.

Good call by Ferentz today, when he got that time out with about 1:20 left. He saw the Hawks get into a knee-down set when NIU had 2 timeouts left! Did Davis really come up with that brilliant move?

Didn't that come right after a tv timeout/change-of-possession. That should have been talked about before the huddle.

Punt and kick coverage was fantastic. Meyers made some clutch kicks. Special teams like this will at least help keep us in games.

That is one bright spot in this game. And the play of Bullock. O Line needs to dial it up several notches, but special teams looked better.

An ugly win is still a win. I'll take it.
