Which Wooden Nickel Is Bigger?

  • Iowa (Bison or Buffalo?)

  • Illinois (Not really a wooden nickel, just some stupid bank token coin)

  • Texas (Everything's bigger in ... myth)

A young team with the potential to prove they're not so young can't handle the pressure of Big Ten basketball. I just watched the last 3 minutes of the game, you have to make free throws & you have to play defense. Iowa had 1 week of rest to prepare for one of the worst teams in the conference at home and still failed....I'm sorry but that is weak sauce.....there is no excuse for the style of play we're seeing...none

We'd turn down anything other than the NIT

Here's an old article from back in 2012 when we were in a similar spot. Barta doesn't come outright and say we wouldn't accept something below the NIT, but that's the impression you get. Granted this is a different year and I suppose things could've changed with other Big Ten teams competing in the CBI in the meantime, but I can't imagine his opinion has changed much about not being in the top 100 teams.
