thread. Ok ,that world series is 4 years old now, but it remains a warm and fuzzy event for every White Sox fan....

Anyway...Sox futile pursuit of Johnny Damon ends with Scott Borass somehow wringing 8 million outta the Tigers for Johnny ....meh. Would have been nice for the Sox to have another leadoff guy but Pierre will suffice.

Mark Buehrle has been tabbed to start his franchise record 8th straight opening day...over Jake Peavy. Peavy insisted to Coop and Ozzie that MB deserved it for all he has done for the Sox...while MB was saying Jake should be the one....mutual respect..cool.

As camp opens...the projected starting lineup:

Juan Pierre- left field
Gordo Beckett- 2nd base
Carlos Quinten- right field
Paul Konerko- 1st base
Andruw Jones- DH
AJ - catcher
Alex Rios- center field
Mark Teahen- 3rd base
Alexi Ramirez- SS

Starting rotation:
Mark Buerhle
Jake Peavy
Gavin Floyd
Johnny Danks
Freddy (Big Game) Garcia

Regular lineup seems to lack punch,and a lefty,which is why Damon would have been nice....but with a payroll around 103 million, kenny will have flex to add a player if needed in-season.

Big Sox fan here as well and 2005 was very special.

Beckham should provide some pop and hopefully Rios will be better than what he was for us after we traded for him. We may not have the same pop as we did before, but we have a little more speed. Damon would have fit nicely.

Spring training over. Projected lineup intact,cept that Ozzie is going with Mark Kotsay at DH in the opener vs righthander Jake Westbrook of the Tribe...

Good springs by key guys: Rios,Jones,Kotsay,Konerko,Pierre and Quinten.
Rotation is ready.
Opening day is tomorrow....one of the great days on the american sporting calender....Go Sox!!
