Offensive Strategy

You want to talk offensive creativity? Who watched the Baylor bowl game last year? Crazy, pass-happy offense is down to 3rd string QB and missing their top WR and top RB. They then managed to put up 756 total yards, 645 yards rushing, and 49 points against UNC. They of course had a whole bowl prep period to put their crazy scheme together, but that was some pretty impressive creativity on display.

I'm very afraid that with the Vandeberg injury we will go ultra-ultra-conservative and just go into a shell.

Why not run Wadley in a jet sweep? How about Wadley or Parker in a bubble screen?

And having Daniels or Mitchell back there to run the ball out of these formations to keep the defenses honest. I'm not a coach, and I'm not trying to play PS4 football, but Iowa doesn't do a very good job of managing it's talent.

Parker in the game, jet sweep

Mitchell in the game, most likely a pass.
Scheme it out and send it to...............gregory-davis@hawkeyefootball.com

If you are a bottom feeder in a power 5 conference what do you got to lose running that single wing spread full-time? Simple yet brilliant how they spread you out and create those wide running lanes.

Peter, Paul, Mary, Falconer???? HE WAS MAKING A REFERENCE TO 'NASH'.....Crosby, Stills and NASH.... Good grief............

Actually I referenced a different incarnation of that group in a different thread. Either you have Alzheimers or you missed that thread.

DBAHawkFan, are you HawkeyeGamefilm?

We'd all like to see a lot of different stuff. But as Marc Morehouse said, they don't ask the Iowa players to do things out there that they're not physically equipped to do. So we end up playing pretty much the same old tune. For those of you old enough to remember the Hooterville Fire Department band - they played the same song - no matter what the conductor told them to play - OK Star Spangled Banner - they played the same old tune. Same old plays

bit of irony here... that little tune they are playing if the same song that the Wisconsin band plays after they score a touchdown

The most important stat in football is the team that commits the fewest turnovers most often wins. The quarterback that throws the least interceptions will probably win this football game. I expect a close game where a single penalty or turnover could decide everything, so its best to keep things safe and try to make some plays in the 4th quarter.

That's the KF way! Keep it close for 3 Q, and hope to make some plays in the 4th. Almost worked in the Big10 Championship game

Might work against WI because they don't have the athletes of the elite schools (that blow us out in bowl games)
