Offensive line

Have not heard anyone praising the o-line after OSU game. Great pass protection, great holes for RB'S, few penalties. By far their best effort of the year. Great effort up front

Urban praised them in his press conference. I think he's still shocked his all NFL DL got manhandled by an Iowa OL with two freshman tackles.

The run game is coming back and looked great against OSU. The pass protection has been great all year. They OL has given up the fewest sacks in the B1G, just 12 so far in 9 games.

Wirfs looked great. One false start and I think he gave up a sack but other than that he held his own. High school last year to blocking Ohio State d lineman a year later. Amazing.

I've heard plenty talking about controlling the line of scrimmage on both sides and commenting on the two O freshman tackles.

Don't know that I've ever seen an o-line make that much progress in one week. That turn around was amazing. The couldn't move anyone vs jNW. Then to just manhandle OSU? Amazing.

If they do it again this week, we'll know a corner has been turned. If they regress, it was a fluke.

Both tackles may be 1st rounders in the same draft (hopefully after their Sr years). Daniels will also be a high pick (hopefully after next season) and Welsh will get drafted this year.

I read this and was going to correct you, but looked it up to make sure. I've gone the whole season thinking Daniels was a senior. Wow! Great news to me! Checked on Welsh, but he IS a senior. Too bad.

Excellent job by Iowa's very young offense, but Wisconsin's 3-4 defense is a totally different animal. Wisconsin's defensive linemen are going to soak up blockers and let the linebackers do their thing. This will put a premium on how well Iowa's TE,FB & HB block. Unfortunately Iowa's blocking by the offensive backfield isn't on par with 2015. They'll need to step it up a notch otherwise Wisconsin's linebackers are going to spend all day in Iowa's backfield.

I've always thought offensive line play was overrated. How long do they have to block for? 1.5 seconds on a running play and 3 for a passing play? Seems pretty easy to me.
