Offense

Our D has given the offense opportunities today and it has not paid out.

Stanzi's interception was horrible! He had McNutt underneath for 15 easy.

Now they are back in it and we might lose this one because IOWA CANT PUT CRAPHOLE TEAMS AWAY!

This game is now on the offense. Do we go to the conservative burn the clock / no score / NW gets TD to win.

That's how we roll. You're supposed to "appreciate it."

The Stanzi pick was no worse than a punt. The defense for supposedly being a strength has been playing very poorly...

The defense has played horribly this year. I don't care what stat you give me, you can't let teams drive down the field with ease. They have done that with Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, and now Northwestern. OSU is going to blow Iowa out next week!

NW 4th quarter TD drives...85 and 91 yards.

Sorry to the OP, but our defense contributed to this loss, big time.

As inept as our offense usually is when it really HAS to execute, I agree on the defense struggling this year in key situations. I really don't care about how our defense has traditionally come up with the stops when it has had to. We are talking about THIS YEAR.

In all of our losses, the defense simply has NOT been able to get a stop late in the game when it has had to.. Arizona, Wisconsin, NW. Throw Indiana into the mix too, except we were bailed out by a dropped TD, that would have hung another loss on us. Same thing was happening there too - the opposing offense marching right down the field late in the 4th.

Okay the defense has its issues no doubt but lets take a look at all of the examples above;

Arizona; Binns gets a pick 6 and Mike Myer misses the extra point so instead of up by 1 we are tied. As little as 1 point is, it is a back breaker for the other team.

Wisconsin; Greenwood gets a interception and the offense does NOTHING WITH IT

NW; Hunter gets a pick and we are up by 10 points late in the 3rd. Stanzi throws a PICK instead of marching it up the field for a FG or a TD.

So with those examples above tell me HOW THE DEFENSE HASN'T CONTRIBUTED TO GIVING THE OFFENSE ITS FAIR SHOTS. If your D is on the field the whole funking game they will get winded and bend and break. I also have to say that the coaches need to consider giving Hyde safety help every play.
