odds?

What are the odds that Barry Alvarez would allow his head coach to hire an inexperienced family member to become OC or DC?

That's your answer on the difference between Wisconsin and Iowa.

One plays to win, and everyone is aware of the standard, the other takes care of legacy "things"

Sure Kirk, you know better than to ask me, I am only the AD

Kind of busy now anyhow, working on our bowl trip to Jonesboro, Arkansas

Well that depends on whether you mean now or back when Barry was the head coach because my guess is the answers could differ depending on the timing.

While I think you could hold your own in the beer chugging and cheese eating events, I think you would have difficulties in the cheerleader challenge, where you have to carry 300 pounds up 4 flights of stairs and then try to push a greased up cow through a 2 foot wide door.
Remember cheese is not a condiment!

Brian had to make due with the least experienced Wr Corp in school history. Iowa also lost two 5th year senior tackles and replaced them with two freshmen.

In year 2 Iowa put up 404 yards of offense against Wisconsin despite losing two possessions due to turnovers.

This season Iowa is a a averaging 8.2 yards per passing attempt which is the 3rd highest in the Ferentz era. The offense isn't there yet but they're making progress.

That's a good point.

Leonhard's 1st season as DC: total defense ranked 2nd in the country.

Brian's 1st season as OC: total offense ranked 116th in the country.
Leonhard walked on at Wisconsin and was a 2x All-American and First Team All Big Ten player before he earned a scholarship. Brian lived in Section 8 housing. College football is all about grift nowadays and in terms of running grift, Brian has Leonhard beaten by a country mile.

Would you rather have Section 8 housing filled with football players or gang bangers from Chicago?.

This wisconsin defense is a shell of the one they had last year. Comparing them is meaningless.

Leonard is not an Alvarez child.

AD winning leadership is the core of Wisconsin. Iowa limps along with excuses while traveling the road of mediocrity...which keeps the majority of the fan base content.

.Leadership vacuums in the AD and the HC positions.

It isn't that complicated, but tough to admit and fix.
