Odds to Win the B1G

Nebraska way too high (more like 80-100/1). Still haven't proven they've "got it" under Frost

Goophers way too high (more like 40-50/1) They lost some key players and haven't shown that they've reached Wisconsin or Iowa level yet.

Part of the formula for setting betting lines is to predict how the public will wager. That Nebraska is that high says the public is viewing things with its collective head up its ass and it also factors in the Huskers delusional fanbase.

There's a sucker born every minute...right? Perhaps more frequently in Omaha.

While I think Nebbie and its fans are overrated windbags, Vegas looks at patterns. Let's face it, if KF has demonstrated one thing, is that he is consistently above average, but does not quite good enough to win the conference. He has tied prior to the championship game, and came very close to winning it once (I was there, crying in my tequila all night in Indy).

Nebbie remains a (tainted) brand in college football with a ton of a resources and a rabid fan base. Frost has had two good recruiting classes. Frost has been part of championship teams as a player, and at UNI, Oregon and as a head coach at UCF. While I hate to admit it, if you had to bet your entire retirement on who was most likely to win the conference title first, Iowa or Nebbie, are you betting your life savings on KF finally breaking through after 20 years? If so, I love those gold colored glasses.

In conclusion, I hate Nebraska and think Memorial Stadium is a cow pasture filled with cud chewing d-bags.

NorthKCHawk... KFz tied for the B1G title in 2002 and 2004. If you're talking about Champs during the divisional era that's only 9 years. Not exactly a big sample size. Iowa and Nebraska each got to the title game once. Iowa damn near won it, Nebraska got destroyed.

As for the "brand"...I don't think Nebraska's brand has significantly more clout than Iowa's at this point. For recruits that's even more true. No high school or college player was alive the last time Nebraska was a Blue Blood.

Rob's right, Vegas sets lines to get money, they know Husker fans are unusually optimistic and some still believe Frost is the second coming.

Based on this, Vegas "expects" us to finish 4th in the division. I think that's absolute worse case scenario.

The West is going to come down to who can win the road game between Iowa, Wisky, and Minnesota. Each plays one road and one home against the other. If we can beat Minny on the road, I think we win the West. If we can't beat Minn on the road, then it's going to come down to Minn v Wisky and that one's in Madison.

I think Northwestern and Purdue have a say in who wins the West. Not that either one of them will, but they both will be improved and dangerous. I think they pull at least a few upsets.

If Petras plays up to his clippings, we'll challenge for the West title. No doubt.

I predict that Illinois will get on the scoreboard against us on their home field this year.

Outlandish? Don't laugh. They havent done it since 2014.

You should take a minute and look at KF’ s wins over the last 5 years. Breaking through after 20? Ha Ha.

There are always be spoilers in the B1G. That...is indicative of a tough conference.

Betting who has the best chance at winning a title first and who has a better chance this year are two different bets.
