NY6 Bowls Are Screwed Up

It's a shame when you've got lower tiered bowls that have better matchups in them than a couple of NY6 bowls. The Orange Bowl being forced to take the next best team in the ACC Virginia (24th ranked) to take on 9th ranked Florida. Then in the Cotton Bowl you have 10th ranked Penn State taking on 17th ranked Memphis.. Two boring bowl matchups! I get that they want to include the non power 5 leagues but there should be an exception if none of them are ranked in the top 10. The Outback (Minnesota vs Auburn) and the Citrus (Michigan vs Alabama) have better matchups than the Orange and Cotton.

Maybe I'm just biased but I think even the Alamo Bowl (Texas vs Utah) has a better matchup than the Cotton Bowl. It needs to be fixed.

Yep, PSU-FLA would be better to watch.

Big Ten and SEC have the best bowl contracts. Pac 12 and XII bowls are pretty weak

I'd much rather see PSU vs Florida in the Orange Bowl but then that would have given the ACC the Citrus Bowl which would have really screwed with the matchups. Another odd rule!

Eh. It's hard to say because you just don't know what's gonna turn out to be a great game. FLA-PSU would be more interesting because of the history, reputation and aura of the programs, but who knows how the on-field game would be.

I can’t get into bowl games. I watch the CFP but that’s it.

A long time ago I would watch a lot of the bowls but there were only 15 to 20 of them. Now I will watch the NY6 and Champ games, Iowa, and probably some of ISU but that will be about it. I might peak in at the last part of a few other games with Big 10 teams.

Yep, this is me. At one time I used to watch them all and I loved all the bowls on NYD. But now I just can’t get into games like Western Kentucky versus Western Michigan in the First Responders Bowl.

I check scores to see if it's close. I'll watch WKU/WMU if it's 45-44 with 5 minutes left. Otherwise, no way.

Look, on Jan 1, it is either going to be soft soothing music that wont offend my pounding headache, or bowl games and maybe a little hair of the dog, so to speak.

Bowl games win in that scenario.
