NW going forward...

I didn't realize so many of their key guys are freshmen and sophomores until the last 2 or 3 games. They have a top 25 recruiting class coming in next year. They will miss Crawford next year but should be in position for an NIT caliber season. They will pull some more upsets before the season is over and likely get better in years to come...if they can keep Collins around for a few years.

I am not going to judge quite yet. They will have a scary team next year, not contenders, but one you just don't want to play. I think all the credit they are getting defensively is a bit overblown considering who they have beaten.

Yes they will have a lot back, but relying on freshman to be the difference when they haven't played conference ball has it's ups and downs.

NU= Northwestern University

UNL= University of Nebraska Lincoln

Exactly. At some point, if Nebraska is going to remain in the Big Ten, they need an English lesson. Yeah, I get that they called themselves "NU" when they were in the Big 8 because it was the structure adopted by almost every other Big 8 school. And that was great when they were in the Big 8. But they aren't anymore. The Big Ten is the premier academic BCS conference and we have something called "standards" that is obviously foreign to the average Nebraska resident. Indiana goes by IU, because it is Indiana University, and Iowa and Illinois both go by U of I because they are both University of [___]. In the Big Ten, you go by your school's name, not by what some hillbilly wheat farmer called your school in 1932.

Who cares what you call NorthWestern? They are irrelevant in every sport and always will be. Call em whatever you want.

I only mention the recruiting class because it should help. A top 25 class should at the very least make up for losing Crawford. I like their sophomore class and all of those guys will have a year in Collins' system. Experienced juniors with talent and a good coach can be a problem.

I should clarify for anyone that's confused. Anytime I type NW I'm referring to Northwestern of the Big 10. That's how I will always refer to them. I just wanted to make sure everyone that reads this thread or any future reference I make to NW knows what I mean because it can get confusing...assuming there's at least 1 poster that can't connect the dots.

The biggest challenge I see for both NU and Minnie will be keeping these up and coming coaches. I really doubt they will be around long.
