You can say what you want about our defense, but for as bad as people make them out to be they don't give up a lot of points and nothing comes easy. Sure, there are exceptions to that, but making a team like NW take 6-7 minutes to score isn't awful. Let's hope we make a stop here.

Its designed to impede the backside player from closing down on the backside of the zone play.

You either occupy him with a qb boot, wham him with a fullback/H, or fake the reverse.

Also slows down pursuit of linebackers creating better angle for the oline to combo to second level.
