First, let me say I have not watched one minute of PTL. Second, I am only looking at stats. But why is everyone so high on his shooting when all I see is 1-8, 2-9 on three pointers? I understand a bad day at the office, but it is every game. Inside the arc he seems nuts on. Given the nature of PTL, I would expect the numbers to actually be inflated to the regular season. Is everyone just looking at potential only? Seriously, I am not bashing, I am asking as someone that hasn't watch him play, and only being a nerd looking at the stats. Maybe Jon can shed some light.

His videos from the PTL seem to show a guy with a high skill level around the rim, good passer, rebounder, runs pretty well for his size and good form on his shot, though it's true the 3 wasn't falling for him. I don't think anyone's saying he's the second coming of whomever but he looks like he's gonna be a pretty good player.

I've also been surprised by his 3pt shooting. I think we're going to be seeing a lot more of him at the 4 than the 3.

You need to look at the total package. Rebounding, inside game, running the floor. His three's will be a bonus if he starts to improve. He's a kid and has a high ceiling. If he can get to the high 30's as a percent, he will be very valuable. Not to worry about a kid experiencing his first summer away from home in a pickup league. I watched and read about most of his games as a senior and his stock rose dramatically. Glad he had no interest in Indiana.

Totally agree on the total package. I just keep hearing how he was such a good pure shooter. I am not expecting 3s from Garza, but no one was hyping his long ball ability. Just curious, that's all.

I don't understand why people think he is a 3/wing player. He isn't that quick laterally and isn't that great a 3 or shooter.

We all have bad streaks. I think his 3 point percentage will be acceptable early and exceptional as he progresses.

Nunge is a little bit different player than I thought. I thought he would be a better outside shooter but on the flip side, I expected him to be a little weaker and not as skilled inside. Overall, he's probably as good or better than I expected but just a little different game.

Hopefully the 3 pt shot will come along.

He is putting up 9 threes a game. Again, I haven't seen him play. I just hear he is a great shooter, stats show 9 attempts a game, and a poor percentage. So you have to ask.

Nunge is also now 6'11"/220. So, he's grown out of the 3 spot. He's grown 2 inches in the last year, so that could also be affecting his outside shooting. He may be struggling a bit with his coordination. But he should eventually be that stretch 4, I believe. He's stated that Fran wants him at 6'11"/230, so that means he'll likely play both the 4/5 spots depending on the lineup.

I do think that he is a good shooter from range. Let's hope he can be that; he could be a similar weapon as Brad Lohaus was.

This is the way I see it as well. I think Fran is going to really mix and match the 4/5 spots. We won't really face many 6'11 or taller post players, so we won't have to worry about that aspect a whole lot. I could totally see Cook/Nunge or Pemsl/Nunge on the floor together.

Nunge talked about it.

Where, I must have missed that. I've seen lots of message board people talk about it and a few reporters speculating on it. I also saw Wagner talking about it, but I don't remember Nunge saying that.
