I don't want to discount the signing of Mel Bascabe,but in all honesty who is the next serious recruit on our radar? Hope more is yet to come or commit!
 
PG Anthony Salter from Iowa Western. He is the #2 JUCO prospect in country. He has unbelievable quickness and ball handling and his defense is top notch. He was recruited by Speraw while at Central Florida. Committed to Auburn but has since been released from his LOI after Lebo was fired there. Speraw has had contact with him since.

Or Texas prep PG, Kevin Brown. Asked out of LOI from Central Florida when Speraw was fired. Has been contacted by Iowa staff.

Iowa needs another PG or C. John Wilkins is another prospect at 6'9" could be a center but if Adam Woodbury - 7'0" - is seriously as interested in Iowa as he talks then I would imagine Fran and staff go after Salter/Brown and save the "big man" scholly for Woodbury in 2011.
 
Solid info Ryno. I know that we need a pg ASAP for sure but don't we need a pf/c just as badly for the up and coming season? Cole could be overwhelmed! And boy do I hope Jared has a nice season to end things! This will be his third coach and torn ACL recovery. Been through a ton!
 
I'm really hoping to land Salters because he is a JC. 2 years of eligibility, means he's done in 2012, just in time for Paige to step in and back up Payne for 1 year, then be the starter. My hopes are set on Randle for 2011 and a big man (as we will lose Brommer and Archie after that year), but Fran has a big hole set up by Lick to dig himself out of there. I think we stand a better chance with Coleman than Randle.
 
I heard that Salter needs to take some summer classes to get things in order. Don't know how big of a problem this will be.
