Nova getting slaughtered by Crieghton

Creighton was 13 in Kenpom before this game, #4 in off/eff at 120 and the 21 3's raised them to #1 @ w a ridiculous increase to 128.

I contend the premise still stands, a top 10 team and for sure a top 5 team should never be down 40 in a game to a team outside the top 10.

Interestingly, nova was only down 13 at half, 53-40, so they got blown out after halftime, when one would assume the home team would make some adjustments and make the inevitable fan fueled run. Still, they folded even more falling behind by as much as 40 midway through the 2H.

Creighton was ranked about 80 in Def/Eff so nova should have been able to put up more than a measly 27 2H pts, so one might question their heart as well....

In case you didn't notice, Villanova is ranked ahead of Iowa. Does Iowa need help to get into the tourney? No. But they do need help to move up in the polls, and it's fun to see that little number on the screen get smaller. Nova getting crushed helps with that.
agreed. Now its all about winning and hoping teams ranked above the hawks lose

I hadn't looked at Kenpom for a few days. I see Iowa is now 4th and the top rated Big 10 team. Michigan State is 5th. The Big 10 has 5 in the top 17. Every team in the Big 10 is in the top 100 except Penn State (111) and Northwestern (145).

Iowa also has a huge advantage over Creighton in the def/eff category too.

But that was just one 4 standard deviations from the mean game put up in the W @ Nova.

Nova fell from 2nd to 13th and Creighton rose from 13th to 2nd after game, what's the odds of that happening to 2 teams again the rest of the yr? Odd.

I like the younger McDermott but I'm not convinced "Dad" can recruit adequate talent. Where would Creighton be if Doug had stuck with UNI? Where would UNI be? I can see Creighton at the bottom of the Big East looking up next year.
