Notre Dame shoves and grabs his own coach

I am a ND fan! Kelly should be fired immediately. None of us could lay our hands on an employee and not get fired and likely sued. Th assistant coach has no ability to say anything or his career will be over. Not acceptable!!! Ever!!

This is not a normal employment situation. It's football. Major college football at that.

I despise ND and have no love for Kelly. That assistant can get BK back later.

Let things solve themselves. You want big government (or whatever) to protect everyone from everything. That's not life nor reality.

I have no idea what any of this means. Are you saying Kelly was justified for shoving his coach?

I am not sure how you bring government into this discussion. With that being said, the strongest of conservatives agree that our rights to throw a punch ends at the beginning of another person's nose.

"thats football" argument does not fly. If the assistant did that to the head coach, would it be the same logic?

Brian Kelly deserves some repercussions for this behavior, but this is notre dame and the opinion makers at ESPN and their ilk are obsessed.

so what was the reason for his outburst?

i'm sure he over heard the asst. coach jawing with the refs. maybe he told him to shut his mouth previously? if he had, insubordination. but if you carry any weight as a leader, just telling someone to do something one time should be enough.

i'm guessing he hadn't said anything prior to physically shutting him down.

he should have been fired after that kid died a few years back

Most players and coaches will get in between the two jawing parties. That is how baseball mgrs do it when their players are jawing with umps and are about ready to be tossed.

We all saw B kelly in his first few games at NDame get all red in the face and yelling at his players and QB especially. I dont like Kelly's antics and demeanor and some kind of public account of his actions is justified, a blanket apology and explanation, etc

No fan of Brian Kelly or ND but bully to him for quickly moving in and physically shutting down an assistant jawing with a ref. At Iowa State, Paw Woads probably would join the chirp fest. KirFer would never do that to someone on his staff; he wouldn't have to because his assistants know that's not, well, football.

Two questions come immediately to mind regarding this incident.

1. Why would anyone with an actual life care enough about an incident that involved two Notre Dame coaches enough to post about it anywhere but a Notre Dame board?

2. WTH is a strength and conditioning coach doing challenging officials during an actual game? I could see a coordinator... maybe even a position coach... but a strength coach? Really? He's an idiot. Can you even imagine Doyle doing such a stupid thing during a game? Of course not.

Outside the Notre Dame "community" why would anyone care? Oh... that's a third question... and redundant, to boot!
