Notre Dame manager dies

This hits home to my family as my brother does this for Iowa. Last night they went to Kinnick first where the video guys can go up to the boxes by the scoreboards and shoot film like a game, but they then went to the dome as it was still not safe. Not sure what Kelly was thinking. Thankfully KF is a little more considerate. They also don't let the guys go up when it is too cold. those things are horribly top heavy when they get extended to 60'. A little breeze and they are moving everywhere!

Wow, I'm sure this hits very close to home for you. Glad KF did what he did and thought about everyones well being.

Huge lawsuit coming with many defendants, including Kelly and the AD Swarbrick. Likely to be settled for undisclosed terms.

Duffman--

expressing condolences is not going to help anyone so why waste time with that. His family is not reading this right now I assure you. Just the same as Norm Parker is not reading the, "get well soon norm" comments.

What we can do is speculate and talk about what we think they did wrong. Which is what message boards are for. Try not to tell people what to talk about and then calling them DBs.

Just heard a report that ND officials and Indiana OSHA are investigating. Wonder why South Bend PD is not involved.

This may be a stupid question, but maybe it's because ND is a private school? (no sarcasm)

Simpson is a private school, and the Indianola police don't have jurisdiction on school grounds. That's why their students always get busted for public intox in the public park right across the street.

So you are speculating on what might have happend if he refused to go up there if Kelly was the one responsible for sending him up in the first place all so you can feel better about the situation or get personal satisfaction by saying "this is all on Kelly"?

That kinda makes you look like a dbag.

Are you F'ing serious? Of course this is all on Kelly, you want to tell me he didn't know that kid was up there filming the practice? Maybe one of the assistants did send that kid up there, but Kelly should have had enough common sense to know with the high winds it would have been dangerous and maybe used his authority over an assistant and told that kid not to go up there.

This is a big problem for Kelly. I think he gets fired. Kelly is a dbag anyway; have you watched any Notre Dame games this year? A complete jerk

Tressel on the same day decided to practice indoors to keep the kids safe. Smart coach, smart man.

I love ND football and was really excited about kelly coming to turn the program around, but I think this is all on him. A kid a year younger than me died because he let him go up on that lift. The lift is supported by wheels. W/o some sort of lateral support at the bottom of it there isn't a chance it could take the wind loads especially on a day that windy. IMO he is a great coach but because of his stupidity a 21 year old lost his life...he should be fired immediately.
