Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz announced Tuesday that safety Brandon Snyder would miss the rest of the season after re-injuring his knee. That and other items in this football notebook:

They're going to apply for it but KF didn't seem optimistic. Hard to say with the NCAA.

That really stinks. Sounds like he came back a little too soon. I don't even remember Snyder getting hurt in the Illionois game. If I remember correctly we found out he was hurt when he didn't play the next week. Maybe I'm wrong though.

It's possible he suffered the injury in practice after the IL game.

I'm pretty sure KF said it happened during the Illinois game. I don't think he practiced after that.
