Notebook: Iowa Letting QB Competition Play Out

I do like that they haven't officially decided. I'd prefer Padilla but at least this sends a clear message ( if it's not bogus) that Spencer can be replaced. I hope in practice the starting D are being allowed to play at a speed that is close to game level. If it's who throws the prettier pass Petras will win, if it's who is the most gritty it Padilla. I hope at least the message is sent. I hear if they do poorly again this week the OC position will have a open competition. LOL
 
Pretty sweet QB competition.... FYI Kirk, Petras isn't going to be here next year. The season goal of a championship is over. You've seen what Petras is capable of over the last three years. The tough part of the schedule is out of the way.

Why not play your potential starting QB for 2023?
 
Doesn't Petras still have a COVID year of eligibility left or are you saying he is leaving no matter what? If Petras transfers, would any P5 school want him?

You sure about that? Petras does have 1 year of eligibility left.
