Want to put up 55 against Purdue and look actually competent as D1 coaches? Then do the following:

Gregg:

1. Start Beathard at QB (Best arm on team, faster than JR, and appears to have the intangible fire in the belly to compete - similar to Drew Tate)
2. Start Canzeri and play him as your sole running back 80% of the game (speed is the name of the game boys - reference Oregon, Alabama, Baylor, tO$U, etc) remaining 20% go with no backs.
3. Place Powell, Duzey and Smith as wide outs EVERY play ( spread the opposing defenses on the field and give yourself some options to use what speed you have)
4. Role out your newly installed QB to give yourself multiple run-pass options.
5. Employ the screen pass - to anyone ( get your players in space)
6. Throw slant passes (it actually is legal to throw the ball over the middle boys!)
7. Anytime you cross the opponents 45 yard line, go 4 downs (show a bit of faith in your kids and perhaps they might reward you)

Phil:

8. Play Jaleel to show potential 4 star future recruits that if you come to Iowa you do actually get a chance to play.
9. Play Law in the secondary to add some speed to the D backs (who are suffering from white boy slowness)
10. Blitz frequently( its amazing how this can tend to rattle a college QB, and all the top ten teams in the country do it routinely)

and most importantly,

KF

Come down with a severe head cold, stay home, miss the game, and let your assistants run the show completely. Amazing how it has worked out at Minnesota.

#9 is kind of racist ;), but I could live with the rest of the suggestions.

No intention to be racist here, just stating that he is faster on the field than either of our current safeties.

That's a great list. I'm sure you derived it after watching these players practice for hours and hours in order to fully evaluate not only their raw talent, but their understanding of the system and their assignments.

Oh wait, you haven't? Interesting....

Madman obviously is THEEEEE greatest D1 coach there is. So his suggestions/rants hold a tremendous amount of weight.

Can we pass a ball cap around to collect monies to replace KF with this guy?

Madman, you'll need to fill out an application for employment, before Iowa can "officially" hire you. It's just protocol, nothing personal.

Agree with almost everything but starting CJ at quarterback and playing Canzeri that long at running back. CJ has little pocket presence and just a big arm. He is sack bait back there and will throw his share of picks trying to force things. JR brings more to the table....it is not just about having a big arm.

I agree about giving Canzeri more carries, but you still have to pound the rock inside with Weisman (assuming he is healthy).

Hire this man. Now.

1) No.
2) By situation only, like they have been doing.
3) See #2.
4) He's not ready. Clearly.
5) And pull a guard, which they are unable to do as evidenced by the times they've tried it.
6) I actually agree here.
7) No.
8) No.
9) No.
10) They actually are blitzing a ton.

Just my opinion, which is meaningless.

Clearly the point here is to TRY something different. You have one RB getting 15 carry - going nowhere. Why not try a different RB for 15 carry?

Agree with getting the QB to roll out. That was a fixture in the KOK offense - trouble was they would never allow the QB to keep. KF seems to have gotten comfortable with the idea to let the QB run a bit but, our guy isn't athletic enough to slip out of a collapsing pocket...so, move the pocket and make the defense worry about the QB too

You sir, are correct. TRY something different. The offense is broke coaches, if the schemes don't work and the players you are playing can't make it work, then change some things up. Against Purdue, you can likely afford to try something different, even radically different, and still have a good shot at getting a W.

But I am not related to KF, thus I am not sure that I could be considered eligible for a position on this staff. :)

Severely disappointed that the OP didn't include a demand that KF refund his salary.
