Not just underated but ignored superstar?

Is the feeling I get about Jok. Has he gotten any national run at all? I'd seen that some mid season top 25 Wooden award list came out and he wasn't on it. That's a crock. I mean a total crock. Do they look at him like a James Harden type? Hollow points/ball hog on a mediocre team? I couldn't disagree more if that's their line of thinking. The guy has been awesome. And if anything doing it with such a young team around him without any other superstars on it only makes it that much more impressive. Think about it every team going up against us has him at the top of their game plan. They know if they can stop him they have a good chance of beating Iowa. Well he's still been doing what he's been doing. He's not a ball hog that dribbles it all day long like a Harden or Carmelo Anthony. It's too bad that outside the BIG he's not getting the respect he's earned. Maybe as the year goes on that'll change. Hell maybe after last night it will.

James Harden leads the NBA in assists btw.

If Jok was on a better team he'd get more recognition. He's been awesome.

Yeah I'd seen that his overall floor game this year has been pretty darn awesome now that you say that. I guess I had the previous years of his career in my head more so. He's playing mad over not getting much recognition last yr. I think wasn't even on all NBA 3rd team last yr and he lead league in scoring? Or close to it. So now he's showing off his overall floor game more and he's been doing good your right.

Houston is 31-11 !!!

I believe Jok is "hurt" because he is playing in the Midwest, not on the coasts, and for a team from Iowa. He is also weak and lacks intensity on the defensive end at times. He can shoot the rock...no doubt about that... Keep shooting the rock, Jok.

Not a fan of Harden...

It is laughable that some say "Well yeah, he scores a lot cause the rest of the team isn't very good." Oh yeah? Well if that were true (it isn't) then defense could double team him all night long.

I'm confident that by the end of the season people are going to sit up and take notice of Peter Jok. If not? Screw them. He can laugh all the way to the bank when he goes in the first round of the NBA draft.

Jok not being on the wooden watch is complete BS. How does the leading scorer in all of the power conferences get left off the top 25 list?

They trim the list to 20 people in February so its possible Jok makes that list if he keeps up this season.

At this point, Peter is the best player I have seen since Fran came on the scene, and certainly better than anyone in the Lickliter era, or error, I guess, would be more accurate. And I don't just mean his shooting. East Coast gets all the love from the m(ass) media. If he continues his run and stays healthy, he will be first team all bt.

He keeps it up,he should be POY. But he'll get screwed just like any other deserving Iowa player because he doesn't play for other schools that begin with I.

Peter has has been getting noticed from the start of the season. However now he is being talked about. After the Wooden list came out, Jay BIlas remarked about it on Twitter. Peter has received even more notice of late. His game against Purdue was masterful. Every aspect. He was in the zone the entire game. Believe me, those who were not paying attention are aware now.....

The Sporting News seemed to notice....

Doesn't seem to bother Peter. I personally think it is better for him to avoid the publicity. It is almost, every time, a curse. The Sports Illustrated Cover Syndrome.....

Peter knows how good he is and is handling it very well. I don't believe he wants or needs the distraction. The national basketball gods are paying attention. They have to. It is a pleasure to watch Jok play. One of the best to ever put on a Hawkeye uniform.....

He'll probably get more cred/press by *not* making some list than by making it.

The NBA suits know who he is. That's all that really matters for him.

Jok was on a better team last year. What is different the last few games is that he is flowing into the game rather than being the Iowa game. Beautiful when it works like this. I'll go as far to say that the difference primarily is JB. Last years offense, though they scored points looked disjointed. Most of Fran's offenses look disjointed. This one is coming together as a team that happens to have a scorer.

This guy gets chased like no other player in the country. It's every team's defensive gameplan...don't let Jok beat you. He has been unbelievable with that kind of attention. Save for the end of the Nebraska game, where he couldn't get it done a couple of times at the end of the game and the first OT, and made a huge bonehead turnover at a critical time, he's in the mix for POY.
