Not Happy, but....

..... the team is still fighting!

I get to see my first game this year in over 3 years, and I am still excited to see them play! I really hope we turn it around. I really think that we should win some of these games versus mediocre teams, but we what we are- competitive throughout every game no matter who we are facing. I get to see Nebraska this year, and I hope that we play spoilers.

Most Hawk fans admit to themselves off of the net, that most Hawk Fans have outrageous expectations year-in & year-out. Tell me a big ten team that has averaged 8 wins per year? Just look at MSU as an example of a team that could have a bad year every now & then.

We'll be fine. Even if we only hit 6 wins this year! I know I'm in the minority, but i'm used to it being a Democrat in Texas.

Its a one game season now... win on 11/23 and its just as good as a 12-0 season as far as I am concerned

So you were up in Bloomington, ChrisA? What was the mood of the rest of the Hokk fanz in attendence? Had to be pretty grim.

Sorry, worded terribly there. I get to see them later this year vs Nebraska. I'm glad i missed this game though. Still saw some fight out there though. Team still hasn't mailed it in, and that is probably the only thing promising.

6 wins? How do you get there??? Betting Nebraska or Michigan?

Yeah we get lucky a la MSU versus one of those. But Purdue looks like a win. The way this season is going we will lose to Purdue, and win back to back vs Michigan & Nebraska. Ha! that would be fun to see some crow eating sessions on here if that happens. Because after a Purdue loss this board will implode!

We are way more likely to finish 4-8 than 6-6. No chance of 6-6.

I think UNI could have gone 6-6 with our schedule.

Purdue has the talent to beat Iowa in IC, but they may have given up. If not, a loss by Iowa in that game will lead to something very embarrassing vs. NU. NU will buy up the student section and about 10,000 more seats and will have another 5,000 or so watch it outside tailgating. Buckle up.

If Kirk is not ready next week, and there is no recruiting promise in the incoming class, and if there are more off the field issues, it will get real ugly.

Next year you get Ohio State and Wisconsin instead of the weak schedule the last two years.

Thats a loser, ISU-like mentality....

Agreed 100% to even say that beating Nebraska would make up for the eggs we've laid and the way we've played this year is IMO insane. While it would be a great feeling would no way make me feel like they've redeemed themselves. It would be a big step going forward, but not redemption. To me it's like saying if we were 11-0 going in and lost that the season would be viewed as a disappointment it's just not a legitimate argument.

You're overall positive attitude regarding Iowa football never gets old.

If we can't beat Purdue we suck worse than I thought sucked. Purdue is winless in BIG. At Kinnick. Easy win... even for this bunch.

There are many good reasons to come to Iowa City for a football game, even if the game isn't one of them. I would be excited to be back in Kinnick after 3 years, too. Welcome back, just keep your expectations in check.

It gets darkest before the dawn. I actually see this program turning around and soon. We have rotated plenty of players at these positions and have all or most of the key players back: OL, DL, DB, LB, RB, WR, and TE. The positions where we lose seniors have some good talent waiting to play. Unfortunately, my wish is to have gotten the backup QB snaps this fall. Looks like that isn't going to happen.

The schedule gets tougher but the Hawks do too!:)

Go to the game, enjoy the game, nobody can make you hate being at the game. Just don't go in with expectations of a win. Enjoy any production they muster and don't get upset with the QB play. With every incompletion you can say "Good job, good effort JVB!"
