Not a happy birthday for Montell.

Just received a text that Montell was arrested last night for DUI and will no longer be able to wrestle for the Hawks. This is a hugh hit to the team and just shows that not all of the guys are buying into the "living the lifestyle" that the coaches are preaching.

I hate to see someone with so much talent go but he has had his chances it sounds like we have seen him in a Iowa singlet for the last time.

If this report is correct, not a good move for Montell. I am sure that many Hawkeye fans were hoping that this year was a sign that he has turned things around.
 
Happy Birthday Montell, you're an idiot. If i was on Iowa's team and i weighed 141 lbs, i would probably just go to class, practice, and then stay home. i think that weight is cursed, or maybe we just have too many dumbasses there.....
 
Here is what I have heard:

yesterday, Coach Brands had a heart to heart with the team and told them to cut back on the drinking. He is not happy with them, on the whole, at all.

so, if MM decided to go against that AFTER the chit chat he deserves to be shown the door.

the dust will settle soon on this one.

if you didn't know about this kids past now you do! anybody can get an owi ANYBODY and its unfortunate that it happened to montell. wrestling for the hawkeyes is a privledge and he should not be drinking and driving especially when you clearly don't know what cruise means! with his past he probably should be locked in the wrestling room and sleep in tom brands office. this is a huge hit to the iowa.
 
looks like the link i had up top is no longer working, checked his status and Motell has been release from Johnson County Jail this AM.

Coach Brands needs to make a statement and make sure that this doesnt get out of hand with the rest of the team.
 
Montell has a long history of problems - Plus - the fact that he has always been a prima dona (spell?)
I don't think the apple fell far from the tree. His dad is a BIG part of Montells inflated view of himself.
 
So much for all that "Montell seems to be turning over a new leaf" crap we kept hearing. Couldnt be a worse year for this to happen. He was pulled over for turning onto a street in downtown Iowa City which is for buses and bikes only, missing his front license plate, and not using his turn signal. He was found to have a .151 bac. You would think he would learn sometime in his life but I guess this isnt that time. I guess this just opens up the door for some other talent to be shown.
 
.151 is not too hard to acheive if your just playing pool with the guys but still should know better specially with no license plates lol!!!
