Not a good sign...

Haha! This irritates me beyond belief! There are freaking 52 Saturdays in a year, and so many people have to pick one of the 12 that Iowa has a game on. Even worse is if they pick one of the 6-7 Iowa has a home game on!

There is a way around it though. My buddy is getting married this fall, but he is doing in on the bye week! Genius.

We have not had a bye week during the season for years, so it will be different, but he just went up a notch in my book for scheduling it when we are off!

You want someone that went up a notch...

One of my good friends has Nebraska season tickets and his wife wanted to get married in the fall. Knowing how much my friend likes his football she agreed that if their anniversary falls on a Saturday where the Huskers have a game they will celebrate a different weekend.

My friend then calls me up and says Nebraska has a Thursday night game this week and a bye week this week - what does Iowa's schedule look like those two weeks so I can get the wedding scheduled so we can both make our games. I check the schedule and we have games both weekends but hey I can miss one of them if necessary for your wedding. He then talks to his fiance and they schedule the wedding for FRIDAY NIGHT just so that I can get over to the game on Saturday and neither of us has to miss a game. That is a man who understands the importance of football :)

Simply Awesome.

Well, scheduling the wedding on a bye week is one thing, but you also have to consider that your anniversary will fall on a weekend the rest of your life. Get married in the spring or summer or Valentine's Day or something and leave September to November alone! Not only for yourself but also for all of your family that has to be involved in the wedding. Don't be selfish! It will be gameday for someone's team that needs to be at your wedding.
