First of all, before you tear into me I need to let you know that I am aware of the following. comments that are sure to come...we are not the SEC.....we do things the "right" way.....this is very childish....how will this look to recruits.....Ferentz is going nowhere soon.....blah, blah, blah.....while extreme, until there is some kind of boycott that really makes front page news, nothing is ever going to happen. 3-5 years from now we will still be bitching about the same old shit that has never gotten changed, and the sheeple will still have nothing but Hawk gear on their Birthday and Christmas lists..

I automatically dismiss people who use the term "sheeple" when trying to get people to change their minds. It's a tool of the conspiracy theorist who needs to shock and awe his audience to gain any traction when he tries to hide his irrational, illogical claims from good free-thinking folk. You get an F for effort.

Let me guess, you believe in the magic bullet theory.

I choose to not worry about who/how/why JFK was assassinated, as I doubt I'll ever have enough information to prove or disprove any theory that has any real evidence. But I can safely say that I would not posit aliens or the Illuminati, either.

Did you believe all those "conspiracy theorists" that were saying the NSA was spying on everyone?

You busted into the Maker's Mark, didn't you?

No, but it would have made my Game #5 more tolerable last nite....F'n Kershaw.

I'm not one to bitch about umpiring, but I have NEVER seen a strike zone that big for one team.....LA got cheated out of at least 5 AB's.

Yes, that Ump last night had a very wide strike zone, but he was consistently bad FOR BOTH TEAMS.
Umps with their own strike zones are common from HS all the way up to the Majors. No conspiracy...it's just baseball.

Automatically dismisses those who use the term "sheeple"...then uses "conspiracy theorist" in the next sentence.

I love irony.
I think you don't understand irony... or the term conspiracy theorist. It's the label given to people who often complain about the sheeple. Here's one of those SAT analogies to help clear it up:
Sheeple : Conspiracy theorist
Conspiracy theorist : People making fun of conspiracy theorists

Did you believe all those "conspiracy theorists" that were saying the NSA was spying on everyone?

"Spying" on everybody, not so much, but collecting data on, yes. There was literally so much data collected by the NSA on the general public that only data related to those suspected of terrorism was ever even looked at.

Hypocrisy may be closer, but it's not a stretch to use irony when viewing your post as a whole. "stating or acting the contrary of what is meant"...is a loose definition

In this case you stated that you automatically dismiss use of the word sheeple, as it's a term used to disingenuously affect one's audience and their perception of a following point or idea... then you used the very same technique by invoking the label conspiracy theorist, a term used to disingenuously discredit someone and their point or idea. Should we not then automatically dismiss your point under the same principle invoked?

Call it irony, hypocrisy or just plain a contradiction. It's there, and I'm not the only one who noticed.
