Northwestern - Absolutely No Chance In B10 Championship Game

Ohio State will try to run up the score as much as possible because that's their best chance at making the playoff outside of an Oklahoma loss. If Oklahoma squeaks by Texas, and Ohio State throttles Northwestern, it may give the committee enough to justify Ohio State jumping Oklahoma. They would probably be salivating at the thought of pitting Ohio State and Alabama against each other in the semifinals in a rematch of a few years ago.

I dont think so. That Purdue loss is waaay worse than a loss to Texas.
And to be completely honest, I want to see OU and Bama slug it out. First one to 100 wins

Oklahoma would be lucky to score 21 points. Bama would wipe the floor with them.

I hope the Committee reshuffles the seeding so we play Notre Dame first and Clemson has to play Oklahoma. A Bama-Notre Dame would be a pretty good TV draw.

I hope OU, OSU, etc. lose so the committee has no choice but to put in UCF and you guys kick the ever loving hell out of them so they'll shut the hell up.

I will say that I would love to see Natu Tuatagaloa march your offense up and down the field against the fighting pedo priests.

UCF is actually pretty decent. Ever since the U and Florida State had to implement semi-functional compliance departments, UCF has been able to land some pretty solid ball players. They would probably be pretty competitive in the Big Ten West. Of course, there is something to be said about getting your ass kicked in the trenches every week and they would have had some blemishes, but they have a pretty damned good program.

They do, but they're not used to the level of play they'd face if they played 'bama. Memphis, Navy, and Temple were all within 2 scores of them. Tide would "roll".

Lets talk conspiracies for a minute.

The conference that has the most to gain from a bit of collusion is the SEC.

Its a given to me, that if UGA defeats Alabama, both will be in the playoff. And wouldn't it be grand if they both in the playoff for the 2nd time.

If both are in the playoff then the B1G is out. SEC loves that. and so is the XII not to mention the PAC.

#1 Clemson vs #4 Alabama

#2 Notre Dame vs #3 UGA

What ever OSU does won't matter.

If this happened as you predict, the Big Ten would blow up the CFP system and we'd see a 6 or 8 team playoff within 3 years.

I don't think we get in if we lose to UGA. We got in last year because we were injury depleted and we lost the Iron Bowl, which sent Auburn to play UGA in the SEC title game. Auburn lost and we hadn't played UGA, so that gave us the remaining slot. A loss to Georgia and we ain't going to the playoff. They want the conference title games to be like play-in games, so they won't schedule potential rematches of those. For TV purposes, I don't think they want three teams that are a few hours apart in the playoff unless it is a fluke scenario like last year. Everyone knows the SEC and Clemson are head and shoulders above everyone else, but if the Big Ten, Big 12 and Pac 12 are consistently locked out of the playoff there is a good chance for the system (which makes a lot of money) to fracture and that ain't in anyone's interest.

I couldn’t disagree more. Alabama is in, even with a loss. Unless it’s an absolute ass-whuppin, Alabama is as close to a lock as there ever has been. And, dare I say it, Alabama might deserve the respect. They’ve trounced everything they’ve played this year. At some point, you gotta beat the man to be the man.

This is really the worst possible scenario for Northwestern. Ohio State playing for a chance in the playoff. When you consider how nationally devastating it would be for the B10 to have an 8-4 Northwestern team win the B10 Title, it leaves me to believe this is stacked against them and they have no chance.

If they get any calls, I'll be really surprised. Holding is the big equalizer in officiating. How a crew calls a game truly influences the outcome...just remember Purdue when we had a chance to salt that game away. Two holding calls out of nowhere...the first two all day against either team.

When everyone in the B10 office is praying Northwestern wets the bed...they aren't going to allow an officiating crew to give them any benefit. There is way too much on the line...money...reputation...etc.
Here is my 1/2 cent worth on this one. I don't see any way that Northwestern can win this game. But I can conceive of a world where the sub-Urban Meyer's can lose it.
Then again, I may just be crazy.

Not at all. Alabama is leaps and bounds better than Oklahoma. Sorry if that offends you.

Lol, Doesnt offend me, just saying you have to go back to 2015 the last time OU was held below 21 points. Nobody is arguing who the better team is, but not one team has slowed them down

Not offended, just surprised you think Oklahomas offense is worse than the likes of Arkansas, Tennesse, A&M, or Auburn.
Nobody is arguing who the better all around team is, but all OU does is score points.

I got 20 bucks burning a hole in my pocket, your saying I should put on Northwesten?

Bowser should have been a lap dog against us...and PP put together a dud game plan.

So you are saying the hawks giving up 14 points was a bad defensive effort. And 7 of those points came late on a tremendous miraculous one handed catch after the hawk offense screwed the pooch and couldnt move the ball giving NW a short field.

That I dont think is smart analysis. The hawks defense really shut down NWs offense in the first half if Iowa's offense would have done anything in the first half the hawks would have been up 17, or 21 or 24 to 7 at then have/

Game over
